The swinging into the lake really got me. Because right after I got married we went to the lake with some friends, we decided to swim across to the other side that didn't seem so far away. On the way back I realized that fatigue was setting in and realized my husband sinks and can't float. Scariest day of my life. If he went under I was too fatigued to rescue him and even questioning if I could make it back. We made it back but we shared revelation that it seemed like a death sentence when in the middle of a hecking lake and it was a really stupid idea.

I used to work as a Lifeguard at a city beach in a small resort town in Montana from 2009 to 2012 as a high school job and we were required to train for 4 hours a week on lifeguard drills and practice hypothetical situations quite often and there was one set of drills where the head lifeguard would sink a 10lb weighted dummy in a random location in the beaches swim area and have us conduct a search for the sunken dummy using a variety of dive search patterns. With it being a beach on a lake in the mountains some days the water was clear and we could find the dummy fast and other days it was murky and we had to rely on the patterns alone but we where always able to find the dummy in under the 4 mins requirement with all the lifeguards working together searching the areas they are assigned to. luckily we never had to put that into practice.

I've saved people from drowning 3 times. Can confirm- it's horrifying and traumatizing for both parties. (The worst was a kid in my apartment swimming pool, she was vertical and staring up at me when I noticed she was in trouble. Terrifying to think about to this day.)

I used to go free diving at a lake in my area. We would go 4-50 ft down on a single breath to train for bigger dives. This one time we had to save someone who jumped in that couldn't swim. What made it super hard was you can't see in most lakes because they are murky. So you basically have to blind dive down and hope you find the person. We were lucky and did but it was still scary.

Around 15:20 to answer your bear inquiry, if you encounter a bear that's coming towards you: don't run; running may trigger a chase response. Back away slowly in the opposite direction and wait for the bear to leave. Loud sounds or noises may also help scare the bare off. Only reason i know any of that is because of that show Alone lol 😆

Crocs is really expensive here in my country and apparently everybody loves it. You can even find so many knock off crocs in flea markets. My mother owns at least 3 authentic crocs, me and my father both have pairs of our own and every nurses in the clinic I frequented all wear blue ones (it matches their uniform). Even in my nieces' school they're allowed to wear crocs on rainy days. I live in the Philippines where apparently that kind of footwear was perfect for a our weather. I was actually shocked when I found out it's considered uncool in western countries. 🤣

Back to the lake thing, my dads remaining alive childhood friend died that way, just vanished when swimming. Alcohol and (probably drugs) were on board, of course. But yeah I can’t imagine how scary that was for the other person. My dad isn’t that old, but the crowd he was around was all heavy drinkers and users.

At 17:30 the house burning down and everyone talking about it is so accurate. My subdivision is across the road from this salvage yard and damn near once a year an explosion happens causing a huge fire. And people from the area will literally be standing on the side of the road or sitting in lawn chairs watching the fire be put out. Its the strangest thing.
