In this series of "INKY UMBER" we explore creating a Zentangle Tile using Black & Brown ink pens coupled with graphite shading & sometimes enhancing the piece with White inks or Brown colored pencil. We shall create a completed Zentangle® piece using at least two or more tangles! Gather your tangle supplies, join me and let's experience a relaxed focus as we draw! Zentangle® is a mindful drawing technique, where we use structured patterns in a repetitive way to create abstract images. These structured patterns are called TANGLES. All drawings created using the Zentangle method is non-representational.
The Zentangle method of drawing was founded by Rick Roberts & Maria Thomas from USA, in the early 2000s.
Through the tutorials in this channel, I intend to share with you the process of creating an elegant & intricate Zentangle Tile in a simple way, using minimal supplies while you tap into your Moments of Creativity & Mindfulness!
WHO AM I?

I am Vandana Krishna, a self-taught artist and a Certified Zentangle Teacher, based in Bengaluru, KA, INDIA. Since 2015, I have been exhibiting my art works through various group shows. My works have found homes across India & USA. My Sketchbook & Canvas Project works are part of permanent collection of Brooklyn Art Library, NY.
In 2017, I met Rick Roberts & Maria Thomas, founders of Zentangle® in the USA and got Certified to teach the Zentangle© method of drawing!
My Zentangle inspired intricate ink works, in free form as well as Mandala styles, are mostly abstract representation of my inspirations. I also love art journaling & bringing alive my everyday experiences, travel & the mundane in my illustrative journals! I also paint semi-realistic works in watercolors. I currently work from her studio based in Bengaluru.
