John Thanks for the partial run through and the comprehensive review. Much appreciated. I did a couple of solo playthroughs on easy mode last week and really enjoyed the way the various mechanisms inter-connect. A good thinky and fun experience so I agree this is a keeper.
12:33 You are correct. This is under the “Player Boards” section when discussing the Bonus Action Points marker. You are able to apply it when using the Joker action.
Was just recently able to get my first T game (TileTum). Does looks very nice in how it plays. Like the variable difficulty levels for the bot. Your sample play help me deciding to purchase this game. As there was a major discount holiday sale. I will admit will not probably get to the table for sometime as it's in my queue of games to play. From what I heard you have to learn both base and solo rules which I'm fine with. Definitely will require dedication to learn this game. Thanks for the sample gameplay like always.
This one is not too bad to learn the base game. The bot is not too bad, but yes, it is a different set of rules. I hope you enjoy it when you do finally get it to the table. It’s a really good game!
That action is EXACTLY why I will be selling the game. It literally killed the game for me. Turczi should be ashamed of himself. He's getting more sloppy with each of his games from now on. I will likely sell Cerebria off (still in shrink). The only other game I have from him unwrapped is Tekhenu, and I think I'll be able to grasp that one. I just can't stand games where the rules for an action are poorly written and you can't find an answer for it anywhere on BGG. Also, there are NO youtube videos on here that explain the solo rules step by step. There are only playthrough videos that are each at least an hour and a half long, and I'm not wasting my time HOPING that I'll see a specific instance of the Merchant action in a specific way. That's crazy.
I looked back over the rules on the solo Merchant action and as I understand it, the spirit of what it is trying to do is take away board options to make things tighter for you as a player. I don’t mine this at all because that feels very similar to how the multiplayer feels and provides a lot of tension for you to make sure you stay one step ahead of him on this. I don’t have the game setup in front of me, but I would play this out as an action where he always builds at least once, moves if he cannot build right away and reaches out to get a crest or bonus tile. That is basically what the player will do when they take a merchant action. This doesn’t bother me and I really do enjoy this game solo. Sorry it missed the mark for you though.
@@JohnLaRuffa that's how I'm ruling it also. But another point of confusion came up. One of the fair scoring tiles says to count all crests on your player board. For the player, it was ruled on BGG that crests in your buildings AND storehouse count. But what about the bot?? Its crest rules say that it scores only for ACTIVE crests, not those in its storehouse. So, is this really the case? If so, then the player is at a big advantage for this scoring tile. I'm at a situation where I only have 1 crest in a building, while the bot has 1 crest in a building and 4 in its inactive supply on its board. The base points for the fair tile is 8 points per crest. So this is clearly 8 points for me. But is it 8 points for the bot crest in a building, or a whopping 40 points for its 1 placed crest and 4 others in its supply??
@@realdealastrology9 I don’t know why they ruled it that way on BGG. It seems a lot more clean to have just active crests scored and whatever is in your warehouse does not count. That is the way I read the rules and how I play and also makes sense to line up with the Bot.

Thanks for joining. I am not planning on playing Frosthaven because I still have 80% of the content of Gloomhaven to play. The only Axis and Allies I have played is the original version from years ago. These days, it really needs to be a solo game for me to play it and on this channel, I am strictly playing and showing games that can be played solo. Thanks for watching!
I was sitting on the fence with this. I have played Tekhenu and like it a lot. I thought about getting Findorff but I managed to find Tiletum, so I picked it up instead of Findorff.
I think both are really good games. Findorff is a little overpriced for the content, but the gameplay is good. Tiletum is probably the better of the two.
Hi Jonh, i'm confused by one particular point, at 7:21 the bot choose the character action so you take the 3 grey die and get 4 action points. But there is one available die in Joker action (the 1 blue die) which would have given 6 AP to the bot ? doesnt he have to choose the joker in this case ? (sorry for my bad english spoken)
Did you learn to play both at the same time? Human actions & Bot actions? The bot seems more confusing to learn than it was in Tekhenu. "Do this action then take a die...." ok, now where do I put the token, die and other thing? It's as if they expecting me know how to play already.
You are not wrong. I had to learn them both at the same time which was a bit of a heavy lift. It ends up being easier to execute than Tekhenu in the long run, but it is confusing for sure at first…
as long as the bot is easier than teotuacian.i really wanted to love that game but the bot turns took me right out of it.i was more concerned about running the bot than my own turns.
