Till Brönner plays together with Jacob Karlzon (piano) and the WDR BIG BAND the piece "Thermo" by Freddie Hubbard. The arrangement for the WDR BIG BAND was made by Magnus Lindgren, who also leads the WDR Big Band. Solos are played by Till Brönner, Jacob Karlzon and Johan Hörlén (alto saxophone). Recorded at WDR Studio 4 / Cologne (June 2018).

I swear I can't get enough of this band! When they swing, they are swinging. It's just satisfying to hear this band come down on the beat, they keep it fresh. Proudly from a musician in the United States!

Super clean Till Bronner theme playing. Even a really difficult theme that is miss note even in Freddie's original. and the change of this song is very difficult to play with a trumpet or flugel horn, and Till can not miss a tension code change.

Great rendition! Thanks for share it! En el canal de RU-vid de la WDR Big Band encontramos esta estupenda versión del "Thermo" de Freddie Hubbard con Till Brönner a la trompeta y Jacob Karlzon al piano. Hubbard cerraba en 1963 su álbum con Impulse!, "The Body & the Soul", segundo y último álbum con esa discográfica, con este tema. En ese álbum encontramos también a Wayne Shorter como parte del septeto del trompetista, al que también acompañaba una orquesta de cuerdas. #felizaño #happynewyear

@@WDRBIGBAND that is why I can't find any cd of brönner and the wdr bigband? Bought always forward with Gilkes, also "rehearsal" publicity that I saw on youtube.
