It's an autobiographic song about his own way in the GDR-sports machine and how he was treated (and tortured) in that eastern block athlet-factory. "Sport Frei" was a greeting amongst athlets in the GDR (DDR).

Yeah, that’s truth. He hasn’t just “taken the subject”, he knows very well what he is saying. Do you guys know a story about “Till’s hammer”? He had a knee injury, and the joint sometimes fell out of the joint capsule. Or something like that. And if this happened at a concert, then he had to put it in its place with a blow of his fist. Then this movement seemed cool to the band, and Till began to do it on purpose. But in general, this is the price of big sport.

I believe he had trained for the olympic swim team for the GDR.😊 he was disharged, left or was kicked out of the compition. I believe he was a teenager.😊

Till was supposed to be on the East German swim team for the 1980 Olympics but he had to quit because of an injury. That's where he got his muscles originally. He was a competitive swimmer.

I have mentioned this before, but I don't know if you saw my comment. If you want to see what I believe are the best Rammstein concert videos. Both of the concerts I am recommending are from this year (2023). The first one is from Chorzow, Poland. Really wonderful, and then, the concert from Olympiastadium, Munich. They had sort of a rough summer, and by the time these concerts came around, the tide was turning in their favor They were grateful to their fans and their gratefulness is clear and so very genuine. I love these guys and Till, he is amazing. If you have read this, thank you for your time. ❤❤

Since the last few releases didn't quite suit my taste, I can say this is exactly my cup of tea. I like breakbeat or drum'n'bass anyway and whenever two worlds come together, something very special is created. At least that's how it is here for me. Great reaction from both of you as always. 🖤✌

Fun fact: The scene in wich Till lights the olympic flame was taken in the olympic stadium in Berlin, where the 1936 olympic games took place under the NS regime.

I read a poll of Olympic athletes a number of years ago where they were asked if there was a drug that would make them a champion but kill them in five years would they take it and almost all said yes.

I‘ve had this song stuck in my head since it came out! The whole album is great, I think it has a song for everyone. The video is also amazingly done. Thank you for your great reactions! Unrelated but the Berliner Olympiastadion is so pretty imo. I mean I watch football in that thing every two weeks but it‘s great to take the time to admire it every now and then 😄

I haven't listened to Till's new album, so I haven't heard this song, this was the first time for me and I don't know the lyrics or what the song is about, but I have a guess. I think this is song about his own experience being professional swimmer. 😉 Btw, I was a professional sport shooter and I trained it for 14 years. And no, it is not easy at all. At least, from my experience...

You, you haven’t listened to Lindemann’s latest album! No ! Not possible. Oo in all sincerity, I expected nothing. it’s the first where even the musical part is supervised by him. Till's first real solo album. more freedom, more possibility of error. he didn't do any. really very pleasantly surprised. he is very good. That said, I think it’s missing a little something more impactful or more melodic for it to last over time.i advise I didn’t like the “NSL” music video though. (plus, I don't like Alena and she's in it.😅)

@@juma2619 I adore Rammstein and each member of the band is like my family, but I've never liked Till's solo work. I've heard "Zunge" and now this one from the new album and I really don't feel like it is for me. I guess, eventually I will listen to more songs, probably through reactions, but I am really not a fan.

@@jovana_r I understand ! It had the same effect on me when the video clips were revealed. I wasn't excited. but while listening to the album, I preferred almost all the other songs that had not been revealed to those in the clips. you might be surprised.

Sport fré… 😂 on dirait du français 😂 “shport fry” c’est jouissif quand les chœurs débarquent ^^ en tous cas c’est parfait pour la salle de sport 😅 testé et approuvé Cette chanson est autobiographique et y a même l’évocation de la directive 14 25 😢 J’ai beaucoup aimé l’album. Normalement je serais en décembre pour son concert à Paris ^^ ça me mettra dans l’ambiance de Noël 😂 ( Non) Ma préféré est übers Meer. Alles für Die kinder aurait tellement pu être sortie pour Halloween. Je comprend même pas qu’il ne l’ai pas fait. Sport fré... sounds like French "shport fry" is thrilling when the backing vocals come in ^^ in any case it's perfect for the gym & tested and approved This song is autobiographical and even evokes the 14 25 directive. I really liked the album. Normally I'll be in December for her concert in Paris ^^ it'll put me in the Christmas mood (No) My favourite is übers Meer. Alles für Die kinder could so easily have been released for Halloween. I don't even understand why he didn't do it.

the new album "Zunge" is a lyrical masterpiece of Lindemann as it stands before the Lord, please analyze all songs from this album, would be genieal. Favorite songs from the album: Übers Meer / across the Sea Du hast kein Herz / You have no heart Dance Coach / Tanzlehrerin (you can only laugh about this song, typical Till)

motivation is fleeting, you need discipline for long term commitment like doing Sports / keeping your body in top shape. There is a very small subset of population that naturally wants to do strenuous every time, for the rest of us - we have to force ourselves through willpower. I struggle too, cheers
