A shocking story of post Industrial Britain disguised as an hilarious comedy about a family wedding, says Paul Seven Lewis in his review of Beth Steel's new play Till The Stars Come Down. Bijan Sheibani directs with set and costumes by Samal Blak and lighting by Paule Constable. The ensemble cast comprises Lorraine Ashbourne, Lucy Black, Lisa McGrillis, Sinéad Matthews, Derek Riddell, Ruby Stokes, Philip Whitchurch, Alan Williams and Marc Wootton. Nominated for an Olivier for best new play of the last 12 months, it could turn out to be the best new play of 2024. Till The Stars Come Down can be seen the National's Dorfman theatre until 16 March 2024.
