Took my carb apart about 2 months ago and by the time I recieved my rebuild kit I had forgot how to put it back together but your video set me on the right path. Thank you
Nice clean rebuild on that old carb. Amazing the size difference from then to what’s on the modern saws. I bet this would run like a champ fitted up to the saw.
Nice in depth vid mate. I’ve got an HL that I’ve got to sort on the McCulloch I’m restoring. Beautiful old carbs, back when fat fingered men could still work on them 😂😂
Thank you, yes I really like these old carbs Tillotson made in Ireland (back in the day Stihl using Irish carbs) lucky for me I don’t have cave man hands 😂 so I don’t struggle to much with the small pieces in carbs. Thanks for watching 🙂👍
Hi Luke, I've had really good luck with Tillitson carburettors. Not sure if they're still made, everything is now either fitted with Walbro or junky Zama. 👍
Hi I’m not sure, I don’t think so I’m sure I’ve seen the same car with zama on it so perhaps they bought out Tillotson. They were a great carb they did make smaller ones as well but this one I like. Thanks 🙂👍
Nice video Luke, looks like a well built carb. I've done a few Tillotsons in the past but they were a lot smaller. I hope you got that rebuild kit from a reputable vendor and not some scallywag con man. :)
Please show your viewers the correct way to set the Control Lever - flush - with the floor of the metering chamber. If it is NOT set level, the "inlet needle" will not seat properly. Fuel flow will be cut off, if that lever sits HIGH relative to the floor of the chamber. I use a small chunk of razor blade as a level.
Hi it was ok I didn’t need to make any adjustments it ran great on the saw, It’s rare I’ve had to adjust these carbs apart from the fuel adjustment screws, so I decided not to mention it. A clean and new carb kit alone works for me every time. Bare in mind my videos are aimed at people that are not mechanics, so I don’t want to over confuse people. Thanks for watching 🙂👍
