I grew up here. The flats I grew up in are now pulled down. Tilly was a very safe place when I grew up there. In my teens we all gathered at the local chip shop just like moths attracted to the lights. This was the 80's so punk, Oi and the mod revival all took place then. I even remember fighting the gangs from Woodside. People who stayed across the rail track and the other end of "muggers bridge". These were great days, all looking for a sense of belonging, lacking identity and trying to establish ourselves within our peers. They even demolished the local puds in the area, the Broadsword and the Towers bar.
