The pleasure you showed on your face was priceless! It was a great performance by them both. And you are right Tim held his own. I was going to suggest that you listen to Tim. I listened to him singing his song Winner. It was great. I recommend it. And then there is Floor................. Take care and I hope all is well with you........... :-)
Just a thought Ryan: This show was recorded some 4 months ago and the Marcel Fisser Band (the backup band from this show) were the only ones to know that there were going to be 2 versions of Shallow. It was on their suggestion that Floor kept her 'single' version small and intimate. So now we have two different renditions which makes it much more interesting to listen to instead of a duplication where the duet part would be the only difference.
I am still here 😜 thank you for reactinf to Tim.......................................and Floor 😎 I saw you smiling like a Floor fan like me, I was smiling the whole Episode and in the end I smiled so much it hurt 😜
I actually never heard this song before I saw Floor do it, and I went back and watched gaga and Cooper do the original, and it didn't move me the way Floor's rendition did. This version was more belted out the way Gaga does it, but I prefer the first one. Although I do like this duet with Tim better than the original vrsion too, probably because I love Floor and I'm not a Gaga fan.
@Superpiair1 Yes, I know Bradley Cooper isn't a professional singer. I also respect your right to have a different opinion about this performance & Tim's part in particular.
Oh yes, of course, they heard you and went back in times to re-record it while reassembling all the participants. Great stuff. I prefer the solo version because it is more moving than the standard issue belted version, even if Floor can belt better than pretty much anyone. Her emotional understanding of other people’s songs followed by her interpretation is her gift. There are plenty of other Floor Jansen songs to choose from if you want her to belt/shout/scream/roar etc. I think it’s great to see the extraordinary range of timbres she offers and have never been disappointed by any performance I’ve experienced thus far.
This show was recorders already half a year ago or so, so no. They did not hear your commentaar. In the last episode every singer Gents to select a song and a partner for a duet and this was Tim’s choice. His motivations were party the same as you; it should be performed as a duet, not solo. His other reason was that a duet with Floor was high on his Bucket list.
Tim Akkermans is the former lead singer of the Dutch rock band Di-rect. Watch their live performance at the Dam-square in Amsterdam in January 2005, on a charity event for the victims of the Christmas 2004 tsunami disaster: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vRaWlxbVYtM.html
I'm sorry but I still like Floor's solo rendition of this song better. This version sounds like a one to one copy of the track we all know so well. Don't get me wrong, it's great singin' by both of them, I just prefere Floor's small/delicate version more.
Nice reaction! But this show was recorded about 3-4 months ago. So I hate to break it to you, it wasn't because of you that they did 'Shallow' again as a duet.
I think it's rather good that she can hold back. Her choice of vocal 'weight' is one of her great strengths. She can really build a song and find emotional dimensions that not many singers can. I find that Lady Gaga lacks subtlety - her voice (at least on Shallow) is like a switch: belt/non-belt. I prefer Floor's solo version to this, accordingly, because she does something different - not for the sake of being different, rather, to find a different feel. There is plenty of choice if one wants to hear Floor sing like a blowtorch through butter.
Ryan Rebalkin that’s so weird! I wonder why some of us are getting copyrighted and others aren’t. Plus I noticed you used the entire video, not just clips! Anyways, great reaction!!! And thank you for your reply ☺️
About why they do duets now? that's the format of the show. 7 singers of whom every week one is the focal point and then in the last episode let them sing some duets :)
