Hey guys, I hope you enjoyed this and can please subscribe! For personal views, I think it’s weird not having Tim as the voice, but this isn’t the first time he didn’t voice Buzz and good or bad decision, I think they thought kids wanted Chris Evans.
@@Bossu He's a very popular actor, his as Captain America is the most notable for kids. He seems friendly in interviews, doesn't have controversies that I can recall, and the voice is still pretty close.
Tim will always be ‘the’ Buzz Lightyear, but I do understand why they went with Chris. Buzz in “Lightyear” is supposed to be significantly younger than Tim is currently, and since Chris has a similar but younger voice, it worked. But if they make a Toy Story 5 and don’t bring back Tim, then there’s a problem
Thats not the line of thought at all. The "Buzz" in lightyear is the "actual" Buzz Lightyear from the in universe movie the toy (which is based off the "real" version) Tim Allen plays in a movie that we watch. Its less to do with younger or wateva and more to do with its not even the same character.
Yes, however for the movie that sets up the show, they did get Tim Allen. So even if he doesn't voice him in the show, that is still his Buzz Lightyear, universe wise.
@@nofacedgoldfish6216 Chris Evans, while his own voice is distinguishable, still sounds like Tim Allen in the movie, at least when recording his mission log. Yes, Tim Allen voiced his character in the animated movie that started the show, and that was for the real-world audience of children to be acclimated to seeing an animated Buzz. Then they hired Patrick Warburton because he does voice work for TV while Tim Allen was only doing movies. So my headcanon is that, in the Pixar Universe, they hired someone who sounds like Chris, who could be the voice of the toy and the animated movie character, but after recordings for each were done, a TV series was then greenlit, and they had to re-cast the role because Tim couldn't reprise the role for TV, and they kept Chris on for a potential sequel film, regardless of the direction the series goes in. It could use some work.
Why was anyone shocked? I assumed Tim Allen was not brought back in Lightyear is because of his age and because this Lightyear character was not the same as Lightyear the toy.
People just wanna make a bunch of stupid conspiracy theories just to make Disney look like an incredibly scummy company (at least more than it somewhat kinda is), despite the reasoning from the creators themselves
Not to mention that Buzz is a real person in this. Canonically Buzz is a toy in the toy story movies so it would make sense if it was some random voice instead of the actual buzz lightyear in that universe.
kinda like how studios sometimes get VAs to mimic voices their character counter parts from Movies or show into other lesser known media like games and toys
@@ajohndaeal-asad6731 Yep. A RU-vid Movie Critic I watch, Dan Murrell, used a talking Captain America action figure to make the point. He noted that for us Chris Evans is Captain America in the movies and then he played the voice of the action figure which is definitely VA not even trying to mimic Chris Evans' voice.
The fact that this was considered political is quite outrageous to me. He is an actor. AN ACTOR! How does this make any sense? I swear, this country is in a spinning box while drunk or something.
At the beginning of the movie it said that Andy got a toy from his favorite movie, and Lightyear is that movie. Tim Allen voiced the toy, not the character.
Thank god for clarifying this! I've seen so many people hate on Disney + Pixar because they think they hate republicans and conservatives. If that was the case, James Earl Jones wouldn't have voiced Mufasa in the newest Lion King.
If that were really the case, Disney should've had Allen release a presser explaining that he was "passing the torch" to Evans. Regardless of what the reasons were, general consensus is that people were disappointed Allen wasn't Buzz, also given today's political climate, believing Allen was fired because of politics isn't a reach. Bet Disney regrets how this went down. 😒
@@sirfriendzone1228 Doesn't matter, to the Toy Story crowd, Tim Allen is Buzz Lightyear. That's why the major gripe against the movie from the normiee is that it's not Tim Allen. That's who they were expecting, but not who they got.
I’d be happy for spin-offs in the Toy Story universe, but sort of agree, it’s just not needed. What I would actually be up for is an origin movie for Woody though as a toy. It’s stated that Woody is a family toy, implying Andy likely got him from his father, who we can assume is dead. I’d actually be up for a movie before Buzz and kind of an origin to Woody & Andy, where we see the friends meet.
@@Rivers_Cuomo_From_Weezer Only concerning the TV show and other characters/toys as a collection. It didn't give a background of Woody as a toy passed down from Andy's father or scenes with him with Andy's father as a child. I think that's the more the type of spin-off Charles is talking about.
Simply this: Lightyear was the real life Buzz Lightyear. Buzz Lightyear of Star Command was the Saturday Morning show based off of him. Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story was the toy version because movie and tv actors rarely do the voice for the toys. (Case in point, Tom Hanks’ brother Jim Hanks did the voice for the toys based on Toy Story.
It’s like how they hire different voice actors for toys than the voice actors in cartoons and stuff. Lightyear is about the fictional person the fictional toy was based off of. Toy Story is about the toy.
Tim Allens Buzz Lightyear is a toy that has a voice. This toy was based off an "actual person" in the Toy Story world. So in the movie Buzz is the "original Buzz Lightyear", the human Buzz. So of course it makes sense to have a different voice. 🤗
LIGHTYEAR SPOILERS: Zurg would have been a fitting role for Tim Allen. Or maybe a cameo role in a flashback between his old and young self. In any case, it feels kind of weird that he didn't have any involvement.
You know how many actors were cancelled during the golden age of Hollywood because their views were deemed communist? This is absolutely nothing new. The only difference is conservatives are experiencing it this time around. Thank you, partisanship.
It's like me being fired from job because my favorite food is sushi. It's literally the same thing punishing someone for their opinions. Also like 50% of the country is republican so why should he be punished.
@@monkey-choppa2751 I don’t think it was just Disney, I think Lucasfilms publicly shamed and fired her for her beliefs. Either way it’s hypocritical and pathetic to fire someone for their beliefs and forgiving others, like Tim Allen and Chris Pratt. Seems kinda sexist too…
Everyones point of view Different guy who voices Buzz in that 2D show: this is absolutely fine👍😁 Different guy who voices Buzz for Lightyear: THIS MOVIE MUST DIE AND BURN IN-😡🔥
@@zevac Nah nah it's not Pixar best work not even close heck i'll go even further and say if you want to count it as a toy story movie it's the weakest one but with that being said it's still verily entertaining best part probably be sox
Tim Allen was still the voice of Buzz in the UK version of Buzz Lightyear of Stqr Command, I only found out Patrick Warburton voiced him in the USA version just now
Yea and I swear every time a bunch of toy story fans are always bashing on Lightyear cuz of Tim Allen not returning and you gotta remember he’s old and his voice is a little rough he can’t reprise his Buzz role I’m a Toy Story fan and I don’t see Tim as human buzz that buzz is supposed to be different
I feel toys are very rarely voiced by the same people who voiced them in their show or movie so it makes sense for it to be someone else To be clear I would’ve still like it to be Allen
Season 1-6 were SO good. I really tried to get into the following seasons-and they were fun-but it just wasn’t as good anymore sadly, but still first half was great imo
@@turtlemusic1509 I just liked having a t.v show that more aligned with my own traditional beliefs, such as family values, Christianity and conservatism.
Given what I saw from the trailer, the ship is the same as it was in the TV series...which makes you wonder why no one is asking why Patrick Warburton didn't get the role
It might have been political, but we will never know. This video makes the best case possible that it was not. But them getting rid of the highly rated show from ABC is very strange.
I feel like you’re doing a poor job of pointing out why Last Man Standing was cancelled. Money is the answer. The same reason that Tucker Carlson isn’t really driving revenue as one of the biggest talk news hosts on the planet is because brands don’t want to associate with it. Ratings alone don’t get studios paid: they need to sell Ads. This is the real reason that stuff like Roseanne gets cancelled.
I remember seeing a video years ago about ABC canceling last Man standing and there were a variety of reasons but I think the main reason had to do with how expensive it was for them to actually run that show because they actually had to pay for the rights to Fox. That's why when the show came back it's on Fox. I actually think the reason Chris Evans voices Buzz Lightyear in the light year film is simply because he's a much more marketable star than Tim Allen is. Tim Allen is not in his prime anymore which is not the say that he's not relevant because I still think he is pretty relevant especially with how great he is in last Man standing, but he's not the big star he used to be.
Has anyone also maybe thought that this was Disney testing the waters for the future of the character? Tim Allen isn’t getting any younger and Buzz is such a huge character I don see them retiring him
Tbh, the movie was sorta mid-ish (though still enjoyable) but Chris Evans sounded better than I expected him to. The guy managed to replicate a lot of speech mannerisms Tim Allen had when he voiced Buzz and it really helped bridge a connection between both Buzzs for me.
Also helps that Chris Evans has been in 5 billion dollar movies in the MCU and he’s not in that anymore so they’d want to give him another franchise to hopefully make a billion dollars.
Might just be because the movie is showing a younger version of buzz. Idk I haven’t watched the trailers for it but from the one picture he showed it appears to be some sort of story so that’s the most likely reason
So, I’ve been confused this entire ordeal. So..Allen played the iconic toy right? Got it. That said…..if the film that was just released is about the real in-universe character his toy character is based on…why is it such a big deal to have a different actor for this film? It’s effectively two different interpretations of the same character, and neither invalidates the other.
Politics should never be associated with Disney, or any movie business for that matter. They should not take sides on political issues. It only harms them when they do (ex: the Gina Carano Incident)
I like that Chris Evans said the only reason he agreed to do it is because of how the Captain America toys were. He never did the voice of the toys, so since someone else did the voice for the toys, it made sense to him why Buzz Lightyear wouldn't have the same voice from "live action" to the toy version.
I feel like Light Year is a movie inside the Universe of Pixar.. The movie that made Buzz a hit toy and Andy watched it before reason why he got Buzz for his birthday in Toy Story.. And Tim Allen's voice is the Toys (Buzz's) Voice actor.. and Chris Evans is the Movie Voice actor.. Since that's what some Movies/Shows do with their toy products. "Using different voice actors for the movies, Games or toys" just like Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.. different "Voice" actors for the game, animated series and Live-Action Movie.. So basically I think this movie is the Movie Andy watched in his universe,, the equivalent to Star wars..
So if you think about it... The plot for Toy Story 5 could be mainly about Buzz for once, Buzz's (Star Wars) franchise Vs a new Space franchise that's like Star Trek and Bonnie got into.. A group of 5. Is in the new Franchise And there could be a love triangle between Buzz and Jessie with the Lead rival.. the Lead rival can be any gender.. But a guy would be a better option.. Buzz would change due to jealousy.. then Buzz would do something stupid and that would make him appear to be the bad guy.. Jessie and the Gang would turn their backs on Buzz for being Suspicious to the new Toys.. The main story would be about the Same as the first.. Where Woody overcomes his jealousy and makes Buzz his best friend.. but Buzz makes the Leader his new best friend.. so it goes full circle.. then TS6 would be about Buzz being a rare collectible due to a manufacturing mistake.. and that's where we see Old man Chicken Suit guy..
Do you not know that they are like somewhat related so Tim Allen was going play in the movie but gave it to Chris instead so no he did not just give up all of the money.
Tim Allen said the n word at the laugh factory once, this isn’t a joke. He also said that he hates making kids movies and he said he never liked playing Santa.
Why judge someone on their political or religious views? Conservative or Christian, BANNED! So much for acceptance, to each their own everyone has dif opinions
And this is why I hate big companies, an actor chooses the “wrong” political party and isn’t getting to do what he loves. It’s not like he’s going around saying random politics
Then what was with that stupid framing devise of it being the movie Andy saw as a child. The animated show gets a pass for not being able to afford Allen for an entire show and still had him come back for the straight to dvd pilot movie.
If they cancelled him because he’s a Republican then that means they are embarrassing 😂 Also it’s not surprising with what they try and push nowadays in Hollywood
