Most women want to usually date someone older and more mature, usually being they are more financially stable and have their life together. Hence why not a lot of people actually date people around the same age and most men are found dating someone younger.
He has money, he is talented, he makes good movies and all his girlfriends are of legal age. Mind your fkg business people and let the man have his fun.
The sad part is that, back then, it wouldn’t have been a big deal. Nowadays, it would only generate social media outrage and hashtags like #NotMyRobin #WokeFace
@@azrael_morningstar Where? There's multiple incarnations of Robin, but I've never heard of a black one. I'd be absolutely fine if there was one, I just haven't seen it, and I think Twitter would still be upset
@@Petaurista13it's opposite, dude. Fans still ship stonefield nowadays. No one dislikes Andrew Garfield or Emma Stone but creepy old men with young girls will get all the hates on the earth.
@@tublet172You be surprised that many coworkers date. Not that it can’t be weird due to power dynamics, but it’s pretty common. It doesn’t necessarily point to a bad or good situation.
@@danny87573 yeah no i get that, what I’m saying is that since people have a big problem with Tim Burton doing that, that now he has to find a girlfriend at a local coffee shop like an average joe
@@tommysalami586 we can’t pretend like this is the common situation with Hollywood and directors and even people with a position of power, what Tom Burton is doing is dangerously close to a fucked situation, and that’s dating any co worker in almost all circumstances especially when your the supervisor or manager
Tim Burton seems like a genuinely good guy. In any interview I've seen him in, he's very humble, like most amazing artists usually are. He gives credit to others and his best friend is Johnny Depp. If he ever got canceled I'm done with movies. Do your thang Tim. Mad respect
He’s also the reason why Danny Elfman is famous. He was just an 80s one hit wonder before Tim got him into film composing and now he’s writing classical pieces to be played at concert halls.
Danny Elfman ain't a one hit wonder. Honey, he's had several hits. I grew up in the 1980s. I should know. He didn't need Tim Burton, but I'm betting being friends with Tim Burton helped his career for sure.
He is an artist and totally allowed to have preferences in casting. He's not racist, he just thinks about the overall look of the movie. And if you don't like that, don't watch his movies. The people that count exactly how many black, white, mexican and asian people there are in one cast are the racist ones.
If you think about it maybe he was giving people with pale complexions representation since they don’t usually see people like themselves in movies just see actors with tans. And now Hollywood has a thing with raceswapping pale characters not as often as red heads but still happening.
If your gonna cancel guys who dated women they worked with on movies then you'll have to cancel a bunch of people. Including Kevin Smith, Brad Pitt, Guy Pierce, Ashton Kutcher, Kit Harrington, Ginnifer Goodwin and so many more.
Right ..I mean where do people think others meet their spouses? Like Tims just gonna walk into a store and strick up a conversation with a stranger...No, they meet at work and at events with other people because they aren't just walking up to the chick at the Target and asking for her digits 😂
Jordan Peele "I'm probably not going to cast white people in my movies" The Left: "OMG! So stunning and brave!" Tim Burton: "I like casting white people for the Goth themes of my movies" The Left: "Racist! Bigot! I hope you die in Minecraft!"
Yes but on the other hand ✋ Jordan Peele " I'm probably Not going to cast white people in my movies as the leads" the Right " OMG! He's a Racist Bigot I'm going to Boycott his woke movies ! " Tim Burton"I'm going to cast white people because they look better in my movies " the Right : "well he's a Movie making Genius and he's the Director so he can do whatever he wants " 🙄 yes the left isn't consistent but nether is the Right 🤷🤦
He had cast white people in his movies he said casting them he wanted to cast black actors in lead roles. He's half white anyway and nobody is praising him.
Props to Samuel L. Jackson for defending Burton’s personal choice for casting. It’s nothing personal. If he was seriously racist, don’t you think he would’ve objected to Billy Dee Williams having a role in Batman many years ago?
This notion that you can’t be racist because there is a black presence is ridiculous so I guess slave owners weren’t racist because blacks were in their land
Tim Burton is literally like a legend Dude gave us Beetlejuice Batman 1989 Batman returns Charlie and he chocolate factory Edward scissorshands Corpse bride The nightmare before Christmas Frankweenie Mars attacks
I totally understand Tim’s reason for liking pale actors. It for sure fits the gothic/undead style, and there’s nothing wrong with that. People are always forgetting that being “white” has many different varieties, like being tan for example. And you don’t see them complaining
You got to love how pragmatic Samuel L Jackson is about the Hollywood business, he just tells it like it is instead of trying to change it he navigates it with ease.
"he uses movies to get girlfriends" is hands down the dumbest thing ive heard in quite sometime. people REALLY need to evaluate their lives and priorities.
There’s historical context that makes it different. Also what about isms aren’t argument. We could go back and forth saying but if her did this or but if they did that all day, but nothing would get said.
@@TP19Nothing makes it different. Regardless, why don't you explain what 'historical context' makes it different. Using meaningless made up phrases to make something sound like a valid argument doesn't make it valid without expounding on your claim.
As a black man IRL. I can understand why Burton doesn't pick black roles very much, one of the other reasons besides complexion is because most black actors in Hollywood are far from creepy and gothic.
On the last point: This is SUPER true for those of us in the industry. We work stressful 14h+ days and often are forced to have all of our social interaction on set because of this. Especially once you hit 30+, working a 80 hour week and then going out and being your best self to meet new friends/partners is NOT happening. In addition, relationships where both parties are involved in the industry seem to work out better, mine included. I think its hard for outsiders to comprehend the tole it takes on the mind to work those hours onset. "No, sorry babe, I don't want to go out with your friends on my 36 hours I have away from set this week..." never when well with other girls I met my S.O. on a Volkswagen commercial and we've been together and worked together a long time now.
Man, it's almost as if all of Tim Burton's movies are heavily influenced by Gothic European aesthetics so casting people of European descent makes things a lot smoother and cohesive.
I'm Black, I've loved Tim Burton movies almost my whole life.. I literally don't care if he prefers to cast white leads! I care even *less* about who he's dating. There are *actual* problems in the world to get mad over. *This* doesn't make the list.
Lol you literally can’t cancel him. He doesn’t make annoying Twitter posts or do interviews lying about stuff. He’s so unproblematic. All of this is people fishing for issues.
dude gets girl friends but they are all mature adult woman lol Not no 19 year olds, and he seems to go long with these woman 13 years! Holy Fuq! This dude is a legend no matter how you splice it, seems like a respectable fella that loves his craft, and he has never veered or to the left nor the right. You can’t help but have some reverence for a dude like him.
I am the polar opposite. With all the Native American shows coming out I teased someone I knew who is in 2 of them. I said because the movie is an investment from the tribe, the tribe can use their federal right to have a "Native American Preference" in hiring everybody. Actors mainly. So he has hired his entire greasy family to play a lot of roles. Could you imagine if a movie said and posted "African American Preference" or "White American Preference"? ....maybe a little drama.
@@movieman223Of only they were the Jack Nicholson kind of clowns. Then, at least, we'd have some transparency and be entertained somewhat. #Ifyouknowyouknow
Probably he's the only one that i can say I'm a fan of his work..this man is s genius..all of his work is unique and special..i love what's he's doing..
It's not racist, it's called "preference". Just like how asian executives cast asian actors to their asian films and black executives cast black actors to their film. Racist meant the attitude and the treatment the actors receive while working on set with him, and so far there have been little to none, as long as you take your job seriously. As a colour skinned average audience, i see no problems with that
Affirmative action is being removed, this means that society will slowly improve since only people who try will get a chance at success. This is how it has to be for a society to be nice to live in, since naturally the most hard working people end up maintaining it.
It's not a matter of ' racism ' with Tim or myself. It's a matter of context. With the MCU and other movie franchises finding interracial actors that don't look like the source material it's mind boggling as a creator of art to flip gears and go into another mode of thinking when crafting their interpretations❤
He seems like a normal person. Glad you covered it as such. I’ve known ppl that I’d never date and all of a sudden awhile later we bump in and it’s like “ohhh maybe” but I didn’t have feelings the whole time. 13 yrs is a long time to just be w soemone for power rather than love
Dating an actress you meet on set is hardly a problem when she's age appropriate and famous. It's not like some 19 year old at the beginning of a career where you wonder who's taking advantage of whom there
It makes sense that he'd date people he meets onset. They spend a ton of time together and they probably don't meet a lot of people outside of that because they work all the time.
people will find reasons to be mad about literally anything. It's why outrage culture isn't worth indulging; you can't please someone who actively and intentionally seeks things that pisses them off
Fun fact: the screenwriter Jonathan Gems did a book of interviews about Mars Attacks! sharing his adventures with Tim Burton in MARS ATTACKS MEMOIRS Enjoy the ride ✌️😁
