@@loganagolw not at all, tim henson and lepage are great guitarists in their genre, but synyster gates has a far more competent understanding of melody, writing riffs, soloing etc. Not to mention jazz training etc. Tim henson is good in his niche but certainly not on the level of guys like synyster gates, dimebag, alexi laiho, friedman etc

It's super cool to see that they are just like us. I imagine their are a ton of people here that went through the heavy jam phase in you're teen years into the early/mid 20's. We all wanted to make it and we all thought we could, which is a beautiful thing. What we're watching in this video is a band that put in countless hours of work and wanted it to happen more than anybody else around them. Yes talent, yes creativity, but also yes to hard work.

Wrong. Vocal/Lyric-less masturbatory guitar jack off songs that all sound the same isn’t changing “the guitar game”, smooth brain. It’s perpetuating the downward spiral of modern guitar via the YT trend of technique over everything else. All flash, no feeling. These guys are guitar memes, nothing else.

Lol, when you find the Boomer in the comments who hasn't seen a good guitarist since Van Halen... This style of playing has been on the rise for the last 15 years... Just goes to show, there was probably a thousand Van Halen's before Van Halen, the internet just wasn't there to document it.

@user-eh1vp3ev3c The most popular guitarists aren't always the most talented. Popularity involves a lot of other factors like looks, marketing, luck, etc. But bringing this style into the mainstream counts as innovation imo. It's not easy to do. And 15 years isn't that long really

Johnny - Bandwagons were started by Northern Gold - a bus company you probably used back in 2005 warped years. They sold their busses and converted like 100 box trucks into mini busses.

It's funny, my taste in playing style changed the same as theirs. I started out playing heavy music on guitar, White Chapel, Veil of Maya, Born of Osiris(first 2 albums), Bring Me The Horizon(Count Your Blessings), etc.. and as I got older, I am now more into playing songs by Polyphia, or taking it to a different place playing some John Mayer tunes. I got softer over time, is what I'm saying lol. And I feel you Scott, I turned 31 in March.... Sucks!!! I gotta agree with Johnny, I wasn't very into instrumental stuff until I found Polyphia. I liked Steve Vai, but I wasn't into it as much as I am now.
