I LOVE Tom's virtue response. So thoughtful, so carefully expressed, and so true. I am sure most people have noticed a strong shift away from morality, order and compassion. Oddly enough, Tim, I find your channel to be extremely compassionate, trying to prepare those who aren't exposed, or who are unprepared, for the reality and shock of violence in the world. I thank God that He has protected me thus far, and am thankful that this channel is available to open people's eyes to being more situationally aware. Keep up the good work!
Tom Kier is a deep man. Deep knowledge , Deep skills with poignant insights. In short a Zen Master. Those who judge his abilities by his weight only need to see his insane skills on RU-vid. I watched his Sayoc Kali , it was terrifying. He'll carve you up like a steak. The Timers and Switches that he talks about are for y'all to see in his short Video. Tim Larkin uses his excellent NLP skills to bring out the best in his guest's for his subscribers to absorb. I've nothing but genuine admiration for Tim and what he does.

Some thoughts: It's not just good traditions that get passed down from parents, but toxic ways as well. Family abuse is common, and even Mr. Kier and Mr. Freeborn relate this in their interviews. People are far more willing to point it out today than in previous decades. Sometimes religion can be a very toxic control system, far from the kindness and empathy that is used to draw in people. I spent 30 years in it, finally breaking free 15 years ago and into a much more stable life based on personal responsibility and fact. The polarization in the country has been growing for decades and fanned into flame over the last 5 years with absurd behavior from both sides. Political beliefs become as unquestioned as religious ones. That makes it easier to fall for conspiracy ideas that have no basis in reality, but the beliefs make it feel real. The things you are teaching about the reality of violence are vitally important, and I wish I'd found your system many years ago. I appreciate the work that goes into giving us these videos and the masterclass, and hope to get in-person training someday.
I had a white (English) student rejected from medical school applications over and over. However, he was born in Egypt. I suggested he indicated he put “African/American” because he is. Immediately, he had his pick of med schools. Let me strongly emphasize, he was a brilliant student to begin with, but marking “white” was getting him rejected.

I have a question for Tom, and also for everyone else who ONLY teaches their most advanced stuff to law enforcement and military: If history is any indication of what's likely to happen in the future, why would you not also want civilians to know this stuff? When a government becomes so corrupt that they turn the military on the citizenry, wouldn't you want the citizens to be trained at as high of a level, so that they may have a chance to counter a domestic military assault? Asking for a friend.
I learned a great deal tonight. I took a page of notes. The 3 elements of conflict is brilliant. Tom Kier is the genuine article. It makes perfect sense. The “when you draw a weapon you are volunteering for a whole bunch of things that could happen. be respectful of the change that has happened” ( I hope my paraphrasing isn’t too far off the mark) had a great effect on me. I’m getting this message from several sources lately. Just read Varg Freeborn’s “violence of mind” already had me regretting buying my daughter a 6” fixed blade. I talked to her about the problems, win or lose especially with her not having any training in use of blades. This was an Excellent presentation until running off the rails with regurgitation of political propaganda. But hey I expect that in this industry. It rolls off my back like water on a duck. I don’t judge people by their political views.

As someone who is interested in knifemaking, but not experienced in the combat use of a knife…. What would you recommend as a good source of combat knife design information such as what you alluded to in the video. Is there any place I can learn from that discussion about the strengths and weaknesses of different designs from a real-world practical use point of view?
The last 5 minutes of the interview should really open people's eyes. The breakdown of our society in the last two years is incredible, with groups like antifa and BLM burning down of our city's . I try to carry the message to people I know and sound the alarm. I'm 60 and training every day because I don't want to be unprepared you what's going to happen in the future . The problem is the people who should see these types of videos, won't.
The integration of handguns, edged weapons and hands on, and transitions between, movement etc. is civilian applicable. I don't know what a bad guy has in his head, heart, hands or pockets, he is an unknown contact with an unknown skill set. Mr. Keir, so far as I know, is a civilian like you and I, so he would be using his skills against the same people we would be. I don't like sequestering knowledge based on the students status. Jim, I agree, everyone should train it. I don’t get to train many civilians because of time and opportunity, but I think everyone should develop the skills. Look up AMTAC training with Bill Rapier. He does civilian classes and teaches great material.

Mr Larkin and Mr Kier were touching on the big picture towards the end there. It's fascinating observing the US from outside now. Those narratives of decline do seem to have caught on, but they are not going to help the US move forward. Sure, observe that bad things have come around, but follow the basic advice and run TOWARDS safety, not away from danger with no idea where you are going to end up. The big challenge for US politics in the C21st is drawing citizens together to effecitvely compete against China. It's no use having vast numbers of homeless and jobless Americans. No use having vast numbers of chemically addicted Americans. That has to be sorted out so those people become useful and productive citizens with homes and everything that goes along with citizenship. You can't do that by scattering and turning against each other. The Antifa lot that Mr Kier is alluding to when he talked about anarchists are people who don't fully understand the European left politics they are seeking to practice. They are effectively seeking to serve up a Lenin and a Stalin to the US. What they would benefit from much more from is a revival of the English democratic socialist idea and the FDR New Deal line. That gets Americans working together and looking after each other and puts a stop to the fragmentation and hostility. That makes your personal security thinking a lot easier over time. You really do have nothing to fear but fear itself if you put your time and energy into the right direction.

Real gun fights only seem to happen in the USA, the rest of the developed world it just does not occur save for gangsters, or criminals and police-and even those two examples are quite rare. Organized criminals tend to leave civilians alone because killing or injuring someone outside their world brings calls for action that bring police down in swarms.
Why does no one ever have the guts to ask about Mr. Kier's weight? Is food one of his weaknesses? If you really want to be self-sufficient, is being massively overweight not a huge disadvantage? Speaking out of experience it must be exhausting to cover even small distances on foot. Does Mr. Kier just to plan to hole up somewhere if shit hits the fan?

Once heard a speaker say the difference between education and training is when his 12 yo daughter comes home from school and says she had sex education class.
In Sweden, everything is getting worse by the day, Sweden was one of the safest countrys in europe before, now, its one on the most violent countrys! We have shootings, rapes/gang rapes, stabbings, explosives beeing used almost every week, grenade attacks and so on, we are now one of worst countrys, not only in europe, but in the world! Im been training in different martial arts for over thirtyfive years, and teach Lameco Eskrima, Sayoc Kali, Warriors Eskrima, Panantukan, cqc and so on, to both civilians, police, military guys and bodyguards. And people want to learn how to increase their odds, in a hostile or violent situation, and to be able to protect family, and loved ones. So for me, it is a big difference of why, for example, civilians wants to learn to protect themselves, now, compared to ten or fifteen years ago. The police in Sweden get moore and moore to handle, and less resources, so you cant rely on them to come, and if they do, it will take to long many times, so its up to you to handle the situation.
Tim, With all due respect, try to listen a little more and let your guest do what you brought them there to do. I enjoy your points, but when you bring a guest, I want to hear what the guest has to say. ⁶ and they should do they majority of the talking.
