For your style of playing the CC rule, beautiful chime with great warmth - a fantastic character for jazz playing.

Kinda proves once again that it's all in the hands. Mr. Lerch, you'd sound great playing thru $7 Chinese pups....

CCs for sure but man that stock neck pickup of the 50s road worn isn't bad at all!

I liked the CC for its warmth and Special T for its clarity. I would probably have both and switch between for long periods, and try to decide like that which one i'd keep

Thanks for everything TIM. I marvel and chill at the same time watching and listening to your Tele videos.I have a couple myself. For what it's worth I preferred the Imperial pick up.It had a very distinctive sound.

great playing as always. Really illustrates that most of this stuff is fairly subtle in the hands of a good player. I liked the presence on the Special T more than any of the others...so that would likely be my choice.

This is extremely helpful for pickup selection. Surprised that the Road Worn and the Special T sound almost identical.

Hey Tim, I recently heard one of your compositions on our local jazz station. It had two guitars, one yours, and an accordion. Really sweet. When the announcer mentioned your name I thought, I know that guy.

Your #1 with the CC pickups sounds great, though I would be torn between the last vintage piece with the special T. Both nice and crystal clear. I just redid my CS Nocaster; rewired and put in SD Alnico II pro pickups and I love the mod over the stock stepup. Love your videos and your playing. Great jazz tone with a bit of a bluesy bite just where a tele fits. Cheers!

Thanks Tim. I have tele's with the 52 set and the El Rayo. Great if you would add those. The CC is my favorite for jazz and gospel but the El Rayo covers a lot of ground, reacts great to rolling the tone control back and has no hum. In find it similar to the 52 and CC in some ways but with a wider tonal range. Your demos, as always, are great and so telling.

Excellent comparison, just what I was hoping for. The Tele single coils are still a fair bit brighter than the Gold Foil or CC, but lovely tones all around. I like the GF, CC and Road Worn, but it changes back and forth. Nicely done.

Thanks a lot for all your videos, Tim. They have been a great inspiration for me. Particularly because I ordered å Nocaster with Lollar CC in the neck only because of your extremely well sounding videos. :-) At the moment I am probably about to swap the neck burstbucker in my 335 for a Lollar Imperial (I somehow never really liked the burstbuckers, wether in a 335 or on a Les Paul). Have a nice day, Tim!

They all sounded good. I particularly enjoyed the Special T & the CC's. I have been entertaining the idea of Barden pickups or Fralins however the choices keep increasing. Originally I was leaning towards an Ed Bickert configuration, he used a stock Humbucker. I also do not wish to route too much... so the hunt continues, or as Holmes oft put it - "The game is afoot" (which was actually a quote from Shakespeare). Cheers!

@mattfromcleveland

The CC reminds me of a P90, sort of but not quite because it is brighter. The '54 at the end isn't very well rounded to the ear as the Lollars are but it still sounds great. It's all a case of subjectivity, thankfully you have them all and can pick one up based on your mood lol.

Wow! Do you own that '54 Tele? They're worth upwards of $35-$50K these days. The CC's sound amazing, but that '54 is extra special. I'd always thought expensive old gear was more fetish than anything, but that '54 is something else altogether.

Hey Tim,Have you tried the Ry Cooder string through pickup by Loddar on your telecaster? I interested in the screaming tone but haven't tried it. I love the neck CC pickup.. maybe a combination.thanksJerry

Tim, I like the CCs except for associated instillation issues. I have a '52 Reissue Hot Rod model which comes with a neck SD mini-HB. Any experience with the Lollar mini, or any mini that would get close to the CC?

Hey Tim, do you play any noiseless pickups or do you work with a dummy coil? I'm really annoyed how much noise the singles pick up but I want to get that classy Tele sound. Do you have any recommendation on this topic. Here in Austria certain venues are so dirty, you just can't go along without noiseless pickups.
