Tim McGraw nails it. He is so amazing live, and I have had the privilege of hearing him several times live. Gwyneth starts off slow, but does pick up. I love live performances; they're more genuine. Great job!

Have you ever tried to sing live in a venue that is not a recording studio? That is a feat in and of itself. It takes a whole lot of practice (the type Tim has) to come across well every time singing live. Gwyneth, great job!
I was reading about this,he and Faith showed up to see Gwyneth and then Tim surprised her by going on stage while Faith was watching and smiling all the time.this is what I read about it.
Has anyone read anything whatsoever about Gwyneth Paltrow. She had vocal training. She has an amazing voice. This isn't the first movie she's sung in. She did a kick ass job with Huey Lewis in the movie "Duets". She's amazing!

She does more tricks in her first verse than most 'artists' do in their whole career now. you have to remember gwyneth is kinda new to performing music on a stage. It takes alot of guts to get up there and sing in front of a room full of people you dont know. I take my hat off to her and anyone else that has the guts to go onto a stage and perform.Iv played in bands since i was 14 I'm now 24 and in no way shape or form am I as good or better than anyone.Some gigs go really well some dont but you learn by them thats the main thing. I think her voice is ace just needs a bit more exp
She did good, she just seems very stiff on stage, nervous. Tim is looking at her like "keep your eyes on me and don't be nervous gal." She sounds fine ppl.

@wintercat2 just because you think there are 1000 better doesn't mean everyone is going to agree w you. I'm a HUGE country fan. It's all I listen to. There are some that are extremely popular that I don't necessarily call my favorites, ans there are some that I would. But I just so happen to love this song so much that Iin MY opinion it is one of the better country songs even though its not well known. I also think Springsteen by Eric Church is one of the best country songs I have ever heard.
She has a GORGEOUS voice and loads of control, but is nervous in front of non-actor crowds....you know live in front of strangers. Giver her a break, she's fantastic....and Tim....well...yum.
she only has a little trouble at the beginning of the chorus with the harmonies.. I have a hard time with harmonies when singing duets as well.. singing with another artist throws you off because you're not sure whether to go high or low, she's not tone deaf and she can clearly hold her notes out, she has a beautiful singing voice, I think if anything it might be her nerves.. she IS an actress NOT a singer.. I think she's amazing!
I would'nt use this performance as way to decide whether or not Paltrow can sing live. I've been playing live for years and you're not always going to pull of the very best performance for a variety of reasons. She may not have been in the best voice that night or maybe she had a hard time hearing herself through the moniter. It happens, even to singers who have been doing it alot longer than she has. I think she can sing and I've seen her do it live and pull it off just fine. Peace. : )
She has a shaky start that's all but she carries on and that takes courage and professionalism. I've never particularly rated her as an actress but I can rate her as a human being for getting up there and simply doing her best. This is a lovely, raw song and if someone shows their vulnerability when singing it then that enhances rather than diminishes it:)
I think I figured out the solution for Gwyneth's problem harmonizing in this song live: she sings "singing" four times during the chorus. Instead of singing "singing" low like she does on the second and fourth repeats, she sound sing them about an octave higher like she does in the final chorus. that's not how it is in the studio version but it would sound miles better. She should also sing quieter or turn down or sing further away from her mic. during the chorus.
@Inagodadavita I AM an expert at being a lazy fat ass laid back in my armchair (aint got that recliner yet), (aint got food on my bib as I never miss my mouth) watching tv and poking my finger at the world, and let me tell you, this IS one of the finest country songs I've ever had the pleasure to listen to, (live or not). It surprised the hell out of me to find out a "mere" actress was singing this. My wife thought it was Trisha Yearwood on her first listen. Yours sincerely a Country fan.

She sure is trying hard to keep the right pitch. Singing Live is Hard if you’re not one to do it often. In Studio all is right on Key. Paltrow put her heart ♥️ in it .
Tim was fantastic - as always, but Gwyneth trying to harmonise with him sounded like nails on a blackboard to me. Don't get me wrong, full marks to her for her recent performances on TV. She just didn't have the skill to pull this off live. Oh, and I absolutely agree with myra - Faith is the one who Tim is meant to sing with.
She is ok ...love the song after the studio fixes it . Its not very good though live. She isnt good live at all so its not ticket buying quality. If she didnt have the studio to help out she would be no different then any shower singer. Thats a fact. We can give anyone a chance to sing bit that doesnt mean we have to lie about how they really sound just because they were brave...lol Facts people...truth people. Loved the movie though.
Gwyneth is a little off but Tim of course is a more natural singer,and after they got started Gwyn sounded better. she must have been surprised when he showed up.
I think Gwyneth is staying more in key than Tim. Surprisingly since she isnt on stage as often as he is. She has been singing since she was a little girl. Tim sounds a little off. He always does .. he needs a little backup and his wife to keep it together

She sounds better then those crap supostly "real singer" of this generation. I would rather pay to hear her singing then many of your favorite bands out there.
You're entitled to your opinion, but honestly, I thought she was great. she has a natural vibrato in her voice, and sounds good. You wanna hear awful listen to taylor swift live, or worse, cheryl cole.. Now that is really bad. But hey, its in the eye of the beholder.
