I can’t put a number on how many times I’ve heard Tim talk about his gear, approach, set up,reasoning, etc. It will absolutely never get old. His skill and touch are one thing but his joy and devotion to music are what brings me back. Such a legend.
Imoho John uses his excellent interviewing skills to guide rig rundowns and asks questions to help artists provide their pertinent gear info. He’s great at asking the right stuff, then pretty much staying out of the way while they answer. With Tim most of this isn’t necessary. Tim’s a master communicator who’s been refining things through hundreds of videos over the years….and he’s demoed his guitars and cockpit many times on his own and other channels .This seems like it was an easy one for John, he could just let Tim go and enjoy the music and the info. Two pros doing their thing.
What an awesome Rig Rundown. I love the ones with great session players, they're so generous with their insight and process. John is so good at just letting an artist talk as well
Just, TRULY, The Best of the Best. A constant inspiration & in my few interactions with him, so very personable and humble with it. Thank you Mr Tim / Here’s hoping we can see you over UK side 🇬🇧 one day?! Cheers - Sam
Tim and John. Tone and gear talk hosts match made in heaven. Fantastic video and two of the nicest, coolest dudes in all the guitar world! I could listen to them talk gear and tones for hours. God bless and rock on 🎸😎
Great stuff - obviously love Tim's playing but love his ethos just as much. So refreshing hearing such an expert talk about "player grade" and new guitars with such enthusiasm. Much a pleasant change from all the vintage megabucks stuff.
John and Tim together = happy day. Really great interview John. So cool you got to be in the gear cockpit. Amazing. Been a massive fan of Tim's since the Rick Springfield touring days. Um like almost 40 years ago. Wow!
Such a good episode. BTW, I love how Tim references his old H9s and mentions the learning curve of the H90. I have some H9s, but a few months ago I picked up an H90 and as amazing as it is, it truly is not easy to use. I'm getting there though.
My biggest takeaway here was a reinforcement of something I'm forever working on at home. It's not a question of owning mad gear, we all have what we can afford to, it's about setting up what you do have up for ease of access.
The modulation box is the Fairfield Circuitry Shallow Water. It’s made here in Quebec, Canada. All their stuff are GREAT. Try the Barbershop Millenium Edition Overdrive… Trully amazing.
I built my "pedalboard" (they're dead all just on the floor lol) based on watching Tim Pierce and Tom bukovac and seeing how they do it. I got my Nobels odr1, I got my danelectro roebuck for the Ibanez mostortion, I have a aqua puss for the brad Paisley thing, I just got a new Boss ge7 cause the new ones are much quieter, I have the boss tremolo and vibrato. For me, there's a reason these guys all use the same stuff. They've battle tested all the things they use, and every time I try something that's supposedly a mainstay of the Nashville and LA session scenes, I always immediately see why. Getting to see behind the scenes with guys like Tim and Tom on RU-vid is absolutely invaluable and I feel so lucky to get to learn from these awesome players and great people!
I love that pedalboard! It's fairly small and simple, but it has what it needs to get the job done. My pedalboard is small, but it's always changing, like a chameleon. Thanks for doing a video on Tim's gear, Premier Guitar.
Great Video, Tim is the real deal. He mentioned his secret weapon and kept on talking. The Red Llama is so underrated, the guys who know, know. It’s hard to explain, you just need to try one.
People think Paulownia is a crappy wood. Same for Basswood. But those same people would be surprised at how many high-quality guitars are made with those woods.
Ive got a 65" diameter pauwlonia tree in my backyard that is going to be cut down and milled. A one piece heartwood twin guitar and bass bodies are in the works
Arcane makes great pups, i had Rob make me one, but he is a really hard guy to get ahold of!!!I love the way John interracts with his guests, he just has a great smile and seems to make people feel comfortable. And hes a killer guitarist!( Tim is cool too, but chewed me out once on his channel..LOL).
@@maspesasmasperras5554 Thats kind of a general question isnt it? If you ask a specific question i can help by answering it, but ive no idea what your asking about.
Cool to see the cabinet room. Was Tim the guy that used to have his cabinets in a circle and the microphone boom would rotate 360 degrees to mic a particular cab? He needs to have special guests pop up between the amps like that in his videos to ask questions. Or maybe puppets like on Mr. Roger's neighborhood!
