I usually don't go with secular songs with gospel..BUT CAN YOU STAND THE RAIN can go with life..GOD can make any cloudy situation brighter..so he will be right there beside you when the storms of life is raging

People like me are why I receive respect as a Christian and why I often have sinners that want to go to church with me no it's not about me but allowing god to use me to be an example to others that no one ever feels judged why because I don't mix and match there's a clean life you can live as a Christian I didn't say be perfect just separated things like this cause confusion to the world and also helps them think that being lukewarm is ok

Pleb Sos it's the truth and why people are so hesitant about coming to church. They see no difference. It's hard for them to respect us furthermore because we aren't holding up the standard. I'm just saddened more people don't understand but it's something to pray for.

It's not my place to judge or condemn but if God didn't like it then he would not have allowed it to be effective. God has sheep and shepherds of many different folds and all sheep can't be fed the same food or ushered into the spirit the same way. Just remember to keep the Lord first and understand your material sometimes needs to be non-traditional to reach non-traditional people.
I Love It!! God can use anything to reach people, even if it is ONE line from a secular song. As long as it is not glorifying sin and he is using it to encourage or minister to someone. It just may have caught the attention of someone who is not "churched" and let them know that God is there even in the "stormy days". As a Gospel Singer/Worship Leader, I want to be able to reach EVERYONE. Sometimes we Christians are so "religious" and don't want to step outside of our box. Now, personally, I don't have a problem with the original song either! :-)

Careful with your tongue- "Religious" is what us Christians should be. James 1:26. Worship is done in spirit and truth - John 4:23-24. Truth is in the scriptures and in Jesus, which we should have gladly flowing from our mouths.

A Good Song is just A Good Song!!! The Most High gives Good Songs to those who will sing them... People label songs "secular", "worldly", "gospel" etc. And if people actually researched deeply into the etymology of certain words such as "gospel", "christian", "church", etc. they would not use those words in relation to The Most High nor His Son.
