A bluebird couple raised ten babies in our backyard this year, two families of five. This video shows the second family as they left the nest over two days.

Not having a predator guard is not very smart for a landlord of bluebirds, place a 8"X 60" guard below the box. place system out from under the tree due to snakes and other predators coming down from tree limbs getting to the box,. Have box facing tree so fledglings have safe flight to tree, Trap House sparrows with Van ert trap to prevent them from killing bb's
Good call on the Van Ert trap. I use those all the time to eliminate sparrows throughout the fall and spring. Snakes are a threat in some areas and certainly you should be pro active in that regard. I never saw a snake in the 20 years we lived in that house. Now that we have moved I will pursue the guard you mentioned as there may be a threat in our new neighborhood. Thanks for sharing.
