The extension is looking great. It's so inspiring that you show how to learn from small missteps, and that there is no need to panic or hide them. This is why everyone trusts you to take on bigger and bigger projects.
Great video bud, just a quick question, do you not have to use twist nails in the joist hangers? Pretty much all the videos I've seen on similar things they use twist nail, didn't know if it was personal choice. Love the series. Watch all your videos 👍
Hi mate. I’m just a DIYer but built myself a garden gym over lockdown and loved working with timber. You mentioned in the video you were going to cross batten perpendicularly on top of the rafters before the firring strips and OSB. I didn’t do that with mine and simply put the firring strips straight on top of the rafters themselves with nothing perpendicular. Is there a particular reason you’re going to put the cross battening on first?
Hi there, yea typically I would just put the furrings on the rafter. I’ll put putting the furrings as you did but with the cross batten above. The area above will be where the air vents through the roof. It will vent from left to right. I showed the design drawing on one of the previous episodes. I think the first day that we started in the timber frame
