This series is for people who didn’t understand the original. There is a reason Terry marched off the set. He didn’t understand the point. So here we are, another terrible remake and ironically another loss for little people. David Rappaport RIP.
I am already thinking this series is an insult to the original film, Sean Connery, and George Harrison. Not going to bother ruining my childhood memories with it. Ya, the reviewer seems to be Ngey and an NPC going along with the rest of the smooth brainwashed of society.
If you’re looking forward to this remake, you’re the type of person who would look forward to a remake of Pulp Fiction…and a review of it should not be taken seriously
Hmm watch and enjoy a 2 hr movie in one sitting or watch several hours of a retread weeks apart, what is it with streaming making entertainment a chore, and i thought Zach Snyder's content was hard work
*Spoilers* I have to admit I was expecting a lot less than I got from the first 4 episodes...In fact I found it pretty good. I used to watch the original on HBO back in the 1980s, so I've seen it loads and I think this show is successful in not directly retelling the story but throwing it down with more insane circumstances. Stealing mead from 18th Century monks to sell to New York Gansters in the 1920s prohibition era is only one example of the time travel puns this show explores. Characters are hilariously self-deprevating too, the ensemble cast does become more endearing and the arrival of a detective in the 4th episode promises an extrordinary intellectual angle to come into play which I am looking forward to. DEI? Woke? Not really, I hate that shyte. Pythonesk? In a few places, quite blatantly but I felt it came across as adulating their humour rather than rehashing or copying it. The trailer was bad, and there is a lot of horrible shows out there , but this isn't one of them in my opinion.
I thought this would suck but then found out its (the 2024 series) created by Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement, who's humour I love. I ve watched it and it's pretty good and quite funny and at times hilarious. I did think , like many, that Lisa Kudrow was all wrong for this, but I guess AppleTV/ParamountTV needed a american comedy star in it too. But 'Kevin' (Kal-el Tuck, a 'super' first name) was brilliant. I kept laughing a lot troughout the episodes. VERY ENJOYABLE!
Watch out for spoilers, dude. We regular viewers only have the first two episodes available so far, so hearing you refer to 'those ten episodes' makes me nervous, especially since within the first minute I got a sense that you were already veering into spoiler territory… I'll get back to your review after the whole series has been released. Cheers.
I watched the first two episodes last night and had an absolute blast Was kind of waiting for the fakers to show up and go "RuInEd My ChIlDhOoD"; because that's the normal thing to do now with adaptations and reboots. Glad that I only found genuine reviews! Rather than the fake negative reviews for views.
@@JustinWatchesMovies can't exactly call it a statement though. It's just useless drivel that troglodytes picked up from reading memes, because that's the only reading they ever do.. Like the other popular ones, that are equally fake and have the same meme origins; "They changed the lore" "The books did it better" "The writing is awful" "It's woke propaganda" You have individuals that hàte a movie/show and will spam the internet until it sticks. Then a hate hype ensues and people's fomo kicks in and they just repeat blindly. Then a cancellation happens and bibbity bobbity boo; they got more things to complain and be toxic about. Because it's always the fault of studios, streamers and networks. And never the fault of hundreds of thousands of people being excessively toxic and calling for cancellation because they think it's "funny". I've grown so tired of people ever since covid happened.. When something new releases, and you love it; these days you have to hope that the internet doesn't hate on it for d.mb reasons like; - a female lead. - a gay character with an arc. - a non-caucasian lead. Some days I have to check the year 10 times just to make sure that I'm still in 2024 with all B.C. bullsh.t (no, not p.c., but B.C. as in; circa 100 B.C.).
It’s not hard to understand. It’s an expression of frustration that instead of originality, they take our stuff, mutate it, seemingly not understanding the point, then making into something it wasnt meant to be.
@@jmholiday it's bs, is what it is. Bs said by people that think too highly of themselves simply for having read, watched or played whatever a show/movie is based on. As if pressing play, or turning a page; makes you better directors, writers and actors than the people who have trained their entire lives for this. Confusing your own arrogance and lack of understanding for "common opinion". Folks like you need to get over themselves.
@@JustinWatchesMovies yep, I've never understood when people complain about remakes. You literally have the choice to intellectually separate the new from the original and just not watch the remake. I personally want remakes of movies I loved as a kid because I loved them so much that I want to see more of it and a different take on it. If I don't like it, then I just pretend the original is the only version. pretty easy...
another poorly written, directed, acted piece of instant rubbish and apart from it being utterly soulless thoughtless humorless its one saving grace it is now dead
What a coincidence, I made it just under 25 minutes into the first episode also before bailing out. I can't really blame Kudrow for her acting as the performances were almost completely uninspired across the board, other than Kevin who was simply chewing the scenery and just way too over the top. I'm blaming Waititi's directing and writing at this point for the awkward, unnatural dialog and absolutely flat, empty delivery. It's basically unwatchable. I've always thought that Time Bandits was one of the weakest films by Terry Gilliam, one of my favorite directors by the way, but it still was well written and acted with a quirky, fun and witty dialog. The universe it created certainly didn't deserve to be subjected to this sort of unskilled garbage tier production.
