TIME FOR NEW TDWP - The Devil Wears Prada "Time" - REACTION / REVIEW 

They’re saying “time moves so fast, yet time moves so slow.” I almost imagine he’s singing about THEM getting older, and the demons we fight throughout life. And now the band walks out at the end, looking older, more weathered, yet aged perfectly. 👌🏽🔥

this band is pushing for album of the year in my eyes. i have been a fan of this band for what seems like forever at this point and their sound is what i wish architects could have done. its heavy but melodic and poppy with the chorus. they have found a new sound and i fucking love it!

Blue shirt. This song was a surprise in structure for me. I thought a breakdown was coming yet I'm glad they did not add one to this song. Imo it would have been out of place. The song pacing was good, guitar work and soundscapes were satisfying. Definitely gonna check out their other singles now

At first I didn't get the final sequence but paying attention to the lyrics and the music video I came to find not only a cool shot but a very emotional one. The music in my view tells a story about depression and how numb we stand throughout this process, watching the time "moving like lightning" as we are not able to keep up (I've been there). During the song the band is seen "opressed" by dark thoughts or something and in the end they finally get to get out finding the light and freedom. I think this song could be almost a sequel to Chemicals... It really hit me hard.

The bass tone is insane, love this song and it's been playing on repeat for a day now. So good!

I would definitely consider the djent before the ending strings a breakdown. And honestly, it melds so well with the existing structure of the whole song. You can headbang for sure, but I think it's there to open up the climax, which are the aforementioned strings. TDWP is a new band to me, but I'm glad I discovered them. I wish them all the best in the future

i think this song slapped, the only piece I would have changed is unclean vocals on their "breakdown" riff where they did the chorus again. but overall this song was great

This song has such a strange atmosphere to it. It doesn't quite sound "happy," more like "disappointed, but hopeful." It reminds me of a metalcore version of the band MØL; their guitar melodies are very similar to this, just in a blackgaze context Overall, fantastic song imo

Yellow and black Wolves at the Gate shirt. This song is the only song that is catchy that I don’t hate. It’s always in my head and I find myself singing it or humming it to myself.

Definitely my personal fav from the recent singles (aside from sacrifice), they just can't do anything wrong.

Blue shirt ftw - Will Ferrell in Eastbound & Down. Some of funniest bloopers I've ever seen. I do enjoy this song, but I'm not sure I like the fact that the chorus is repeated that often with nothing different other than some additional vocal layering. Still a very good single.

Black hoodie. I like this song but I will say that it’s my least favorite of the four singles since it feels half baked at times. Also, that music video is kind of corny too lol Regardless, I’m mega pumped for this new record as we are in the golden era of TDWP!

Something about the melody of the song feels so out of place in a metal song. I'd have to listen to it more to explain why, someone who is a much better musician than me could probably tell you. Something to do with the end note before it repeats stepping up rather than down, which is where our brains expect it to go. I think that's why you said the riff feels "unfinished." I kind of love it.

Does anyone else think that riff and drums at 3:45 sound just like meshuggahs bleed?

I don´t understand why these mainstream metalcore bands are using the same sound. The bass drum, no guitar feedbacks, there is just barely any bass there, same formula with forced breakdown.. it just sounds so hollow and uninspiring.
