This is a Time lapse of myself building a Ramp for my Friend Marty.. This Ramp will allow him easy access to the Outdoors..
The Ramp was first built in my Pole Shed then moved to his Garage were it was Reassembled and a handrail system was added to it... This video does not show the Final Handrail setup on the outside edge... The Thumbnail picture for this video is Marty waiting Patiently for the ramp to be completed so he can GET OUT !!! lol

Good video and very cool of you to do! I'm curious, what state and county and how did inspections end up?
@highqualityhomemaintenance7565
J Coburn I'm guessing that it was not inspected by gov't inspectors. I say that because any landing, the intermediate part of the ramp where direction changes, must be a minimum of 5ft x 5 ft.

Great looking ramp, did you end up putting a rail or some sort of edge on the bottom section of ramp so he can't roll off the edge? Also, how did you calculate for weight carrying? I'm making a ramp for a neighbor and just want to make sure it is strong enough underneath to support.

I ended up nailing a 2x6 onto the side of the 2x6 runner and held it up about 2 1/2" I never really calculated the weight capability... I always overbuild my projects...lol But it worked out real good building it in my garage and then carrying it over to his house... Eliminates someone asking questions and up your butt every time you turn around... :) Thanks for watching -I hope it gave you some ideas on how to do your ramp...

At 4:53, how is the long section connects to the platform immediately outside the door to house? Joist hangers? Or lag bolts through both pieces of wood?

it was attached using 4 large screw type fasteners at the top platform as well as the lower platform I got them at lowes they look like giant drywall screws with a large flat head and a star bit type head on them.. no hangers were used... and then I screwed the stringer closest to the house wall to the studs and floor joist with that same style fastener here is a link to that fastener... www.lowes.com/pd/FastenMaster-0-x-2-7-8-in-Black-Ecoat-Flat-Head-50-Count-Structural-Wood-Screws/3295058 they are a little expensive but they are awesome and strong !!!!!
