Been and am there still but 50% less. I used to get so drained and the last thing I wanted to do is clean. Started with working with fun things like organizing art supplies. That seemed to help get the ball rolling for me. Not sad just overhwlemed right now. Happy cleaning and organizing to all fellow sufferers. One day at a time. 💛

Our homes are clean because we keep on top of it. It is less satisfying to clean an "already clean" home, but it prevents it from ever getting as dirty as this, and is actually less work.

Best way to stay motivated to clean through the week is to make your bed as soon as you get up, even if you’re just laying in it all day. My dad told me this and it actually helps!

Great job Chelley! Though I felt sorry for you having to clean all that big space by yourself. Why isn't your daughter cleaning her own room? It's not child abuse (to teach them simple chores like putting back the things where they're supposed to be) you know? My ex bf's nephew was 3 when he started putting his toys back into boxes after he finished playing with them. He was taught by his kindergarten, but that's the norm here. I thought it was weird, as I grew up with my mother teaching me this stuff.

When I clean I Have a CD that plays the William Tell Overture over and over. Listening to it makes me focus and really move so much faster. I LOVE YOU, GIRL!

Watching cleaning videos to keep my motivation levels high. I have a way of keeping my house at least minimally clean: wash dishes, sweep floors and put away clothes everyday.

I relate to this so hard..... I have several mental illnesses and cleaning my house can be so devastatingly hard. I was having a really bad spell for a few weeks and my house has never looked so disgusting. and then I got sick and ended up in the hospital having to have 2 emergency surgeries (unrelated to my house). Im about 2 weeks post op, and trying to find the energy to go to work and clean my house is impossible. Just going downstairs and looking at the pile of dirty dishes, seeing the trash my cat got into is so unbelievably overwhelming....
