Foo Fighters have a new greatest hits album out now. Lead singer Dave Grohl answers reader questions here. For more with Dave, check out: bit.ly/6OLFxT
Dave Grohl is a good example on how to live life, yes he was in a huge band Nirvana. When it ended he moved on, kept going, never gave up. Despite the tragic end and hardship. Look at yourself, you can achieve more than you ever though possible. Dave proved this is true
No need, not really the style of rock I prefer. Too poppy for my tastes. Excellent for what it is, but not to my liking. I'd rather listen to something else.
@@smittenthekitteninmittens2679 do you know that Kurt tried to suicide himself before the 5 April 1994, and who saved him each Time, Courtney, even if she might be the reason why, she is not the murderer
@@goatoki2849 ...Kurt tried to commit suicide in Rome.....according to Courtney.....everybody said it was an accidental overdose ...until he actually died..then she came out saying Rome was a suicide attempt...and i didnt say she murdered him herself..
Has i ever dawned on you guys that if Courtney did kill him, she probably could get away with it knowing he would be looked at as suicidal from the press?
Dave is a grounded Dude, always has been. He did a guitar clinic that I attended I think in 02', and he was so freaking cool. About 15 of us who knew the Music Store owner hung out for a couple of hours with Nate and Dave drinking beers and we were laughing so hard and just talking guy stuff. Great dude.
Dave is possibly the sanest individual on earth. Been a rock star for 22 years and never done drugs in all that time, just been the most incredibly rounded, grounded, down-to-earth and simply LIKEABLE person around... to maintain that sanity and lack of ego in the most ego-driven, insane business you can be in takes something special. What's more, while not all of us are born to be musicians, Dave's dedication to pursuing his dreams against a lack of skills and formal training plus making it pay off really is an inspiration, helps keep me going in my own entirely non-musical endeavours.
seriously? "never done drugs in all that time"? what, have you been with him or something? i mean the man literally said "im not the poster boy for sobriety" and that his friends have died due to drugs, please for the love of god put 2 and fuckin' 2 together
cobaltSP1D3R Dave never did coke or heroin at any point, only ever did LSD and weed, and he packed those in at the age of 20 and has been clean ever since...
***** right? you said "he's never done DRUGS in all that time" "DRUGS" that means all the drugs,if you expected me to just infer that you meant just heroin and coke then thats...thats just lame dude, oh and i aint rippin on dave here,i love dave grohl,he's fuckin awesome
It's pretty cool that Kurt Cobain and Dave Grohl have the same outlook on their rock 'n' roll careers; that their children would stop them from being in the industry, if anything.
I just watched an interview with Dave from a small radio station in the 90's. And now TIME magazine. Grohl hasn't changed and that much and fame never got to him. Was expecting TIME to deliver something special but that 90's radio station gave the better interview.
I love how Dave says, "I don't like being away from my kids, I don't like being away from them for more than 12 days" - what a devoted father to his family and is one of the greatest rock musicians. Wonderful man!
''I have two daughters that are gonna grow up with... A Rock musician as a father... Here in Los Angeles... Two beautiful girls on the valley... *Rethinks about life, universe and his whole existence* I'M FUCKED MAN''.
It's so good to see so many good comments about someone who really deserves it and is just a full on nice guy! Some kids met him at a festival while he was eating his lunch so they went and said hello, and he didn't get all up tight he actually sat and spoke with him for a while :) Awesome guy!
how can he be one of the most talented drummer-singer-guitarist-actor and also be so kind and warm at the same time. not everyone can be like him you know. most of the people can't handle that much talent.
Great interview with a great, truly eclectic artist. Even cooler that he's so grounded. I saw an interview a long time ago, early in his marriage. The interviewer refused to believe he wasn't a wild crazy party animal. Finally he said that for he & his wife, a wild weekend was buying tons of junk food, renting like a dozen movies & never leaving their bedroom. Anyone so detached from trying to be cool or front the right R&R attitude is the epitome of artistic integrity & anti-mtv commercialism!
+Cassandra Campbell all night long I dream of the day, when it comes around and it's taken away, leaves me with the feeling that I feel the most, feel it come alive when I see your ghost.

I love Dave in this interview. This is a great interview. I love Dave's comment on the new bands, it's so true. Foo Fighters are my alltime favorite band ever. One of the best interviews by the Foo's I've heard.
Dave is so easy to relate to. Im a drummer and in fifth grade when I started playing I was having a hard time my dad showed me avideo of Dave drumming and it inspired the shit out of me. I'm in 7th grade now and a pretty good drummer. Dave inspired me to start to teach myself guitar and start a band. Dave Grohl If your are reading this Thank You. You are my hero.
If this guy isn't THE rock idol of the new age. If all musictians dissapear and only dave and the foo fighters remain I'd be happy. He has an amazing attitude. Not just twards rock but to music as a whole.
dude he is an amazing dude. he has learned so many great lessons over the years. He is going to be a great dad no matter where he is. I wish I had half the talent, and insight he has. Its just not fair. Can't wait for their new stuff to come out its going to be amazing
Dave Grohl seems to be very well rounded person. He has always been a great musician, an NOW we can see that he is a great dad and likely a great husband.
I love Aurora. I started playing it every night after I played it one night after my son had brain surgery. It calmed him down and he just relaxed and fell asleep. so it is my little david's lullaby.
@fudugazi Took the words right out of my mouth. Great guy all around, and as I see it THE answer to EVERYTHING that is wrong with music today. New artists today can learn a LOT from him.
He has an amazing way of connecting to people I think he should run for president or be my personal life coach he is so fuckn awesome we need more people with the same approach of life as fuckn DAVE GROHL !!
his son is so lucky. not only is he a fan of his dad, but when his friends listen to Foo Fighters or watch old Nirvana vids he gets to say "thats my dad" :)
I would love to invite Dave to one of my family's Saturday night game nights, the way we get would be augmented having him there, we could swap stories of life past and present
