Important comment regarding the time LEFT in the exam (I just took it yesterday, and passed ;)). The exam clock is counting the time down, so in order not to get distracted it's better to subtract the time earlier just not to worry with the maths of "am I gonna make it on time??". So you have to start reviewing the 1st part of the exam at ~165 minutes and finish it by ~155. 2nd part - review by 90 and finish by 80 min. I suggest "anti-padding" the time planned for the first 2 parts of the exam as time management is extremely difficult in such stressful situation so it might happen that you will exceed the 75 minutes planned by several minutes in one of the parts. Also, remember to click "Take a break" when the break starts, because otherwise 1 minute is counted against your exam time! Last but not least, try to use "Flagging" function as little as possible, because you will not have time to review many questions (I'd say 10/60 is a maximum). Work on your focus, also in order not to need to use the "highlight" and "strikethrough" function - clicking those takes time and doesn't really give that much. It's much better to use the coursor to track the text and focus on the key words in the question, as though you were accenting it in your memory.

Last Evening I took the exam at my home center and passed! I was actually surprised, because a few of the questions really threw me for a loop and at one point I thought I'd be posting about my failure. There were no easy questions that were a brainer though. I failed the last exam in JUNE 2021. I have no Agile/hybrid experience. This was all new stuff that I had to learn in the last 3 weeks. Finally I seen this RU-vid channel and I purchased , PMP with RAY took all the PMP training videos of RAY and the tips, techniques also the scenario based questions which helped to me the elimination technique. The exam was so difficult - but not impossible. Study and do as many practice tests as possible. 70 to 80% questions are focuses on Agile/hybrid/servant leadership The actual exam: • 5 or 6 drag and drop questions • 2 or 3 pick which area you think the answer is in • 1 EVM formula question • No Critical path questions where you have to calculate it. Many thanks to PMPwithRay channel for achieving this milestone. Highly recommended to watch all Videos and get the resources for your PMP Exam.

Hi Ray, I took my exam last week and passed with AT across 2/3 domains. I am an experienced project manager and have done PRINCE2 so I decided to follow an intensive, 1 month study programme using your videos like this one on RU-vid and your mock questions and exams on Udemy. I honestly can't recommend them enough. They are thorough, well-planned and delivered in a logical manner. Thank you for creating such great products! The main lesson learned for those taking the exam for the first time is to 100% practice mocks using this time management strategy. I took a few mocks but not with the strategy from this video in mind. If I had practiced that more beforehand I probably wouldn't have been as stressed and rushed towards the end of the exam.

Thank you Ray for this video! It was invaluable to me during the exam! I watched the video the day before I took my exam. I was able to a manage my time almost exactly to your recommendations and got 3 ATS !! For anyone taking the exam, I took it at a test center but when I was able to use the scrap paper I just wrote out the outline for the time management at the first question and I wrote at what time I would need to be at after each section and it really helped just being able to glance at it during the test seeing on the paper where I needed to be. Thank’s again Ray!!

Guys just to mention in PMP The time is reported as time left. So first section should be finish when the time says 160 min according to recommended strategy...... Just tkeep that in mind. Second I just pass my exam. Didn't see this before and I am so happy. I would have been super nervous. Looking at me not hiting the milestones. Every one is different. ... I would recommend just practice the mock exams and get the overall pace you need. It is perfectly ok to use more time for calculations that you know are going to be a correct answer for sure. .. not rocket science , each section should be done in 76 min.... But in reality if you do good in section 1 and 2 , then section 3 you can get it righ by reading answers only. Do your own thing, this video's recommendation even if it is with the best intentions would make you super nervous ...." keep track of every min on top of everything!!" NO .. do mock timed tests and you will be fine.... other videos in this channel are helpful .

Thank you; good advice; I would suggest your clock starting from 230 counting down, like on the test rather than starting at zero. (230/155/80/0). I also wished they had a second timer for the time used on the current portion. Great info; thank you. Oh, while watching this video; I had to keep adjusting my volume. Your edited portion was 2-3 times LOUDER than your other splices and my wife was yelling at me because the volume was so loud. I had to raise the vol to hear the low parts.

Hi Ray. Thanks for this video. Just wanted your opinion on one more strategy, that is, to spring through all the 60 questions (without completely reading it) in the first 5 mins, that way, we reduce the anxiety of what lies ahead, also, there are some questions which doesn't need calculation and is purely theory based, which can be answered in 15 seconds per question, so if in that 5 mins sprint, if we can answer atleast 10 questions straight away, we are left with 50 questions and 65 mins, here we have a happy start that we got that 10 questions right as they were easy and nailed it in the begining in no time...let me know your opinion...
@PMPwithRay
@PMPwithRay 3 года назад
Hi. I will not propose this strategy. If you sprint across 60Qs in 5 mins, that's 5sec/question. I believe that too less time to answer a question (however easy it may seem like). Current PMP exam will not have any calculation Q-s...most of them will be situational and tricky...so 5sec/q is not recommended by me.

Hi Ray, I have a little bit of trouble in understanding theProject Budget component v/s Total amount, Here is my understanding, please correct me if I am wrong: The estimation of cost of the activities carried out under work package level is added with the contingency amount which is associated with those activities, this forms the cost baseline at the activity level of work package. This is added with the contingency amount associated with the work package level, this forms the cost baseline at the work package level. This is control account which management uses for cost performance monitoring, Adding up all the control accounts will give the overall cost baseline. And over this cost baseline, a management reserve is added which will give the budget. Please correct me if I am wrong anywhere.

Hello Ray. Big fan your videos for PMP prep. I have just scheduled my exam for July. I just saw PMBOK guide version 7 is available for download now. Does that mean my exam will be based on PMBOK 7 and not 6 ?
@PMPwithRay
@PMPwithRay 3 года назад
Hi Piyush, the exam is still based on PMBOK6. More specifically, the exam is based on the PMP Exam ECO which is the actual syllabus of the exam. This is regardless PMBOK6 or PMBOK7.

If all topics are distributed somewhat equally among the three test phases, would it be reasonable to assume that if you feel you did well in the first section, the same would hold true in the last two?
@PMPwithRay
@PMPwithRay 2 года назад
No, I don't recommend that. Questions are randomized across each exam candidate and across each section. So you need to do equally well in all the sections!
@robertmusilli5198
@robertmusilli5198 2 года назад
@@PMPwithRay I agree I'd need to do well across the three.. I was speculating that if randomization occurs among all three parts, if you felt good after the first one, chances are the other two you'll feel equally confident or vice versa

Yes, PMBOK6 + Rita's 10th edition is good enough. But you MUST read Agile Practice Guide. Also, study other books as mentioned in the following video to strengthen your concept on Agile/Hybrid & Predictive Project Management Techniques.
