To me, the entire point of time zones is that different parts (zones) of the same celestial body can experience different clock times (simultaneously). If you have only one zone for the moon, then don't bother, I say. Preferably, zones should be related to the view (viewing angles) of other celestial bodies from each zone.
It's 1 second of out of sync every 48 years. Instruments communication (ndr light speed) travels 1 mile during that amount of time... yes gps and similar would be affected!
Cape Kennedy. IMHO this is getting way in the weeds for "normal" things. China will draw dashed lines and say what time it is in Peking to give itself authority to take over and control.
