Time domain Analysis:
It is used to study the performance of feedback control system w.r.t time when a specified input is given.
Time Response :
Definition:
The response given by the system which is function of time to the applied excitation is called as Time Response of control system.
Time response Equation: C(t) = Ct(t) + CSS(t)
1.Transient Response :
The output variation during time it takes to achieve its final value is called transient response and denoted by Ct(t).
The time required to achieve final value of output is called transient period.
It can be exponential or oscillatory.
The system in which the transient response dies after some time is called a stable system.
Information about system:
Initialization
Rate of rise of output w.r.t time
Nature of response: exponential or oscillatory.
Overshooting
Setting time
2. Steady state Response :
It is the part of time response when transient response completely vanishes and denoted by CSS(t).
The steady state is the final value achieved by system output.
It indicates the accuracy of system.
Information about system:
Steady state error (ess)
Nature of error( constant or varying w.r.t time)
