Same here; the kids made me sad...I think I would’ve gone crazy losing them all like that. Very appreciative to have been born at the time I have.

@@mamavswild Times have not changed as much . My grandmother lost seven of her children in childhood as least two of whom I know lived less than a day .

Michelle Twidwell I mean no offense to Icu Alaska, but as you noticed from Icu Alaska's good reply some people are uncomfortable dealing with mortality that close. It's not a "bad" thing at all, it's just the way people are. I know some of my close friends had issues dealing with my mortality when I disclosed having my own life threatening episode which thankfully passed for now. I understood how they did not want to be confronted with their own mortality. Again it's not a bad thing, it's just how people feel about death. For some it's uncomfortable...

Use Google Earth. You can either try copying and pasting the coordinates into the search bar of GE, or just move the screen around until the coordinates you see on the bottom match up with the ones that Stannous has provided.

I think he has dental tools for fine work...I'd like to know what Mick carries in the bag over his shoulder in so many of the episodes...and I'm wondering if it's the walkie-talkie they use to communicate across distant sites?

Mick's bag usually had the camera and accessories (lenses and so on) that he carried. He never used a digital camera, and used transparency film, and a slide projector when giving talks (he never used Powerpoint or similar either). I know this because on more than one occasion when he was giving talks to local groups, I was the person who had to manually change the slide when Mick said 'Next!'. I often got so fascinated by what he was saying that he'd have to say it twice.

@@vincerussett7922 The thing I like best about Mick, in retrospect (I never knew he existed until after his death) is the cheerful, charming way he had of doing exactly what he wanted the majority of the time.... I have a feeling I would have been a willing participant if given the chance.

i wish the team showed some compassion for the poor the plague victims 50% of the pop died and forwomen in those horrible times and the slaves from viking times to victorian times there were slaves and they mostly ignore the horrible lives they had just because they were booty or POWs

You may not realize that the archaeologists on Time Team worked full time at their regular jobs in addition to TT 3 days a week. Phil, in particular, who was in his mid 50s when this was filmed, was already having to make concessions due to degenerative back issues that are a result of field work. I know all this from watching the show. If you watch him dig, he throws shovel loads of dirt up out of holes he stands in well over his height, and you can't do that if all you do is work three days a week and drink beer. I get that you're bitter and resentful, but Phil didn't cause your problems.
