Yes, I noticed that too. In college, many years ago, we had hired a folk singer who had carefully shaped nails on his right hand. Unfortunately he broke a nail just before the performance. I had to go shopping to the local drugstore and buy a set of fake nails to glue on his broken stub.

@@RangerMelB I had noticed that verbal habit of his previously, but it cracked me up on the S5 dig at Turkdean -- big ol' Roman villa showed parch marks, Aston and Robinson take a helicopter ride for a bird's-eye view, and Aston gets absolutely ecstatic over the surprising extent of the villas. "Oh, there's more over there, look... and more there, look... and a corner over there, look..." and so on. I played that bit for my linguist husband, and he thought it was pretty funny, too, especially considering how laconic Aston usually was.

There is a Christmas special were they go back to some of the digs. They said that even tho the cameras go off the work doesn’t. As long as they have found anything there. So look for the Christmas specials

Wolfroy47, are we related?LOL, I also am related to O'Neils (who love German beer) and O'Briens. My Mom was Catholic and my dad was Church of England. When I woke up in the morning, I wanted to argue with myself.

I agree. I go to County Cork a lot for holidays as my mother in law has a place there. My wife's deceased father was a protestant (Gibson) and her family are still there, all over Cork. I find the Catholics and protestants get on generally, and I personally get on well with all our friends from both denominations in the village where we go but I do avoid any conversations about religion and politics. We are friends with a couple who live there that consists of a protestant Irish woman, and an Englishman; you'd think he would know better after years dwelling in Ireland but he's always mouthing off about crap Irish politics etc. when we meet up with them. In a room full of people, you can feel the tension when he does it. As an English person I take the view that if you proverbially "don't mention the war" you'll be okay!

The English confiscated lands from the Irish and gave them to protestant English settlers in the 16th century, to create plantations. Obviously the Irish, and Catholics in particular, were not too happy about that!
