I reckon it could go even faster if you used a track that wasn’t so dusty and rough. Also, the quality of the fuel too. Otherwise that’s really insane considering the given conditions.
Where do they go from here? That car is crazy fast. A 10s car out of the box. Respect to all engineers at Porsche that were involved in developing this beast.
Hope you enjoy it! I'm waiting for delivery of the Taycan at the moment. Trading my GT3 (not supposed to be a performance equal, I want an EV and 5 seats) and looking forward to it. Have you owned many Porsches?
What I love about this car is the lack of fuss when it launches. So effortless and it's always consistent. That 650hp figure belies its bonkers performance. Porsche seems to have the best launch control in the business. Doesn't matter the model.
Many people dream of owning a Lamborghini, Ferrari or McLaren. I lust after the Turbo S. My one friend's dad owns the 991.2 version and took me out in it. The first time he launched it, I genuinely struggled to speak for about 3-4 seconds.
To me, McLaren rules, in terms of performance. The Turbo S rely on AWD for hard acceleration. And in my opinion, AWD takes away for the overall fun factor. Personally, I wouldn't buy an AWD supercar....only sedan, truck or suv.
This is my favourite car right now, hand down. Its just insane. Excellent video. If you can, please do some drag race videos. I see them from CarWow but I'd like to see them from you guys too.
Best launch procedure is to use Sport Mode and by using the "Boost" button once Launch Control has been activated. It could increase 0-100 time by as much as ,3 sec.
To make a car that competes with the best in that category and still destroy the competition at that price is unbelievably amazing. Porsche 911 turbo s and the Lexus LC 500 are truly incredible mechines.
Imagine giving this car high flow intercoolers, larger turbos, 'racing' air filters, a catalyst delete and ECU... can become a 9 second car easily with the right driver behind the wheel.
only need a $2k ecu tune to dip in the 9s :). The mods you mention will bring it to 900hp and it will set a time of 9.43@245....done by 9ff and others...I want one!
I have seen this car on Car WOW... many many many times... but, that 'speedo read' Ciro did, as well as the genuine shock of it all, gave me new perspective! And seems almost effortless... over and over...
this is my favorite 992 Turbo S launch control video! I ordered the same car last summer and it was just delivered a few weeks ago. I bought a Dragy after seeing this :)
This brings me on to why could (for example) Ford not bring the current gen Fiesta and ST to SA if they could not perform on our fuel - yet Porsche can still do a rapid Turbo S here?
Great video and your incredible reaction to the times that this Porsche turned in are superb. For some reason, your face reminds me of Steve Reeves, famous as an actor and body builder decades ago. If anything made me really want one of these Porsches, this is it. Keep up the great work.
I absolutely love this car. My one concern is that the exterior does not look as aggressive as the performance on offer. The usual Lamborghini’s and Ferrari’s may be slower than this on a quarter mile but LOOK faster? I wish Porsche gave it a more aggressive design.
Never.. Porsche will always look like this.. even for the next 20 years.. That's why most people love Italian cars in terms of looks and how they sound.. not this vacuum cleaner..but I still respect what it can do
I love it. Its understated. Its stealth. Pull up to traffic light: Loud revving muscle car on right, super flashy lambo on left. Turbo S destroys them both.
There is a space under the the car for an electric motor. Then there will be a Turbo S Hybrid. I reckon the problem now is a tire that can handle a sub 2 second car.
@@donaldsibiya610 would you say that thats a good thing? Wouldn't i be better to get him to review new cars and someone else to review classic SA cars, and hv more content on their page💁♂️
Hi there, in most cases the timing is out of our hands. Often new cars are launched in Europe some months or even up to a year before they arrive in South Africa. Additionally we have to wait for manufacturers to make media cars available to us. We do out very best to film and publish videos about new cars at the earliest opportunity. Thank you for your support :)
For all the fans and Petrol heads out there, here are two rather enjoyable videos... They may help to put some perspective into the true spectacle of the new 911 Turbo S: First up: Taycan Turbo S vs new Tesla Model S: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ItCGU7BTBv8.html And the finale: 911 Turbo S vs Taycan Turbo S: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l2ojCqhqGZ8.html Now we just need a drag race between the 911 Turbo S and a Hyper Car such as a Bugatti Chiron. Not to see who comes first after the 1/4 mile, although that would be fun too, but to see how long it takes for a Chiron to come past the 911 Turbo S after the initial launch. I have a strong suspicion that this, 2020/2021 911 Turbo S, will become one of the most iconic 911's of all time. Much like the first 911 Turbo between (1975-1977) and the '95-98 911 Turbo (bad boys 1, anyone?), before they got all dweary eyed from 1999/2000; and remained like that for way to long. For me, this 911 Turbo S is a true return to it's 911 roots. And I am happy for that.
