At last the boat projects are coming to an end. We manage to apply a barrier coat and bottom paint our sailboat between the rainy and cold Florida weather. A few more projects and well needed improvements get done while we wait to launch our sailboat.

Lot's of work as always when prepping to go back in the water. I don't mind painting, but absolutely hate the sanding a prep work necessary beforehand. When I lived on Cape Cod, I used to hire cadets from the nearby Massachusetts Maritime Academy (my Alma Mater) to do all the sanding and grinding work on the bottom of my boat during haul-outs, then I would paint the bottom myself. Sometimes you can find high school students willing to so the job in order to make a few extra bucks. It can be hard to part with money when you're on a tight budget, but I think it's well worth it! 👍

Paul that's a pretty good idea. Like you say the sanding can be brutal and take forever. I felt bad for Cory doing it all by himself this year. The painting is the funner part and it's so rewarding to look at after.

The bottom job (all of them really) will make the ship look a lot better when you are done ☑️✅ Now it should go 70 KTS..😱. Well, maybe 7 knots anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️ BTW, those sandwiches 🥪 18:30 Looked GREAT... 😎👍

7 sounds about right. It did make it go faster and made cleaning easier as well. And thanks those sandwiches were delicious. Gotta keep the crew well fed.

When we don't know how to fix something we try to research it. We've learn so much along the way. Owning a boat is like going back to school, always a new skill to learn. Good sandwich = happy captain

Hey Cory or Alex, question about your older video of the passage through Dismal Swamp.. what time of year was that? Looking to take my boat south, through the swamp this November and trying to get an idea on the weather. Thank you.

Hi Peter. We went through the dismal swamp early November. That year there was a lot more duckweed than usual. We absolutely loved the journey, it's so beautiful. But keep a close eye on you engine's water intake and filter. Almost everyone who went with us had issues. It's also shallow in many areas, we draw 5,3"
