LOL, Phil does seem to break a lot of things, but you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. When I was in the service, they used to tell us that they could lock us in a padded cell with a steel ball, and we would either break it or lose it.

Hi Allen and Karen, If you can get a lot of diesel oil is the best oil to treat the pallets do it more than one they will last for alone time. Anything I put on the ground is covered covered in diesel oil it last for ever. Thanks for your video. the wood yard is coming awesome For got to tell you the lumber should be dry.
@AllenFamilyFirewood

Thanks Michael we're compiling alot of ideas into the best way to preserve the pallets thinking we should have dipped all the pieces before even putting them together, it would probably make the job alot easier but true, the wood has to be dry maybe going forward we can change it up and figure out a better way thanks for watching!

A grapple would be great but for now you could just buy 2 more forks for the fork set you have, that would give you 4 forks and then you can pick up the smaller pieces and the crap falls thru. I have 3 forks on mine all the time and they are handy. I also have a bucket with 9 manure tines on it that I use to load my 16" rounds onto my splitter table with. You need a rounds table for Buster. Mine is 8' x 10' and the deck is made of conveyor rollers so that the rounds roll down onto my splitter. It holds a bout 1 1/2 bush cords of rounds on it. Much faster than a log lift.

Hello Phil and Karen. That wood yard is looking great. The amount of room that was created by getting it leveled off makes a big difference. Making those pallets looks like a lot of work but I know it’s a necessity and they would cost a fortune to buy. Santa Fe 275 gallon oil drum lay it on the side cut it completely in half with high enough to soak your pallet right inside of it and get kerosene and used motor oil and just get your whole pallet right in it kerosene and motor oil creates a form of oil which will last forever

that's exactly what i was thinking about the other day would be way easier to dip the parts and pieces before we even build the pallets gonna have to come up with a system for that it sure would take alot of the work out of it down the road thanks for the idea!

My my theory is if you got scrap bundled it up put it on a pallet and sell it for birdhouse material can you make a couple bucks I didn't enjoy building my pallets the way you've done I've noticed it works out well but my situation is I sell so much would it's easier for me just to stack it on pallets and take it as I go
@AllenFamilyFirewood
@AllenFamilyFirewood 8 месяцев назад
thats an idea we didn't think of, it's perfect material for birdhouses and craft projects maybe going forward we can expand it to more areas of use it sure is a pain to build the pallets but its in the long term plan once we get enough built to serve our purpose we won't have to do it so often everyone has a system that works for the way you process and sell your wood this is a great community for getting new ideas and learning from everyone else thanks for watching
