I really enjoy this series and that's why I follow you, you always finish them. You don't leave them half-finished and that's to be appreciated.

If anyone want to read the original "The Call of Cthulhu" short story by H.P. Lovecraft, know that you can easily (and legally since it is now in the public domain) find it online. But note that it is a completely different story compared to the game and even somewhat different atmosphere. For example the wikipedia article include a link to wikisource (the wikipedia for public domain texts) page which not only include the original text, but an audio version as well

Good choice 😂 The bad endings in these games are always better when you go with it.

Right. There are 4 endings. 1 "good". Worth checking out. A bit of a crazy game but good to listen/ watch

Ha, yeah, I looked into those once I'd finished, I still feel like the 'summon Cthulhu' ending seemed a good fit for this particular playthrough 😂

@boringdadgaming oddly the other summon cthulhu ending showed everybody killing each other going crazy

@@GWA_UK Yeah, I found out later there was a post-credits scene, but by then I'd already edited and uploaded my vid 😭

@makemyclay I bought it and played a bit of it just on my own, may well include it on the channel at some point!

Maybe it's just me, but the last few hours of the game got quite confusing. I wasn't sure which characters were actually dead or what characters' motivations were. That's obviously intentional on the part of the game, but I'm not sure if it worked for me personally. Very glad to be able to watch you play it through to the end, though!

Yeah, there was a lot going on. I think a lot of it goes back to the 'miraculous catch', which was in fact Leviathan, who's ultimate goal I think was to help bring about the summoning of Cthulhu - although this link between them could have been explained a bit more, I think. Leviathan allowed himself to be caught by the Scylla, and I think once the islanders had started to eat him he was able to exert an amount of control/influence over them... so he was behind the cult being formed and everything after that was according to his plan. I think everyone on the island having nightmares and/or insomnia was a symptom of Leviathan's influence over them (again likely because everyone was eating bits of him lol). Sarah seems to have been a seer or psychic of some kind, who was falling under the cult's influence, and had pissed off Charles by painting things predicting his future transformation and of Edward, and as a confirmed abusive asshole had her committed largely out of jealousy. Although the timeline confuses me given the fight and the fire happened before that... but perhaps other members of the cult (like the doctor) covered up that Sarah and Charles had survived, to aid his experiment and the cult's ultimate goals. The Shambler confuses me a little as it doesn't seem to have a direct link to the wider Cthulhu conspiracy, but I assume it was partly just to add even more creepy Lovecraftiness to the game, but also partly just another way of showing the power of Sarah's paintings and link with the occult... an accident, basically. Just my thoughts, and probably wrong on most of it! XD

The Cthulhu ending was definitely the more interesting of the two but I'm not sure either one could be called a good end 😂

Hey, in the summon-Cthulhu ending we didn't completely lose our mind, in Lovecraft terms I'm calling that a win 😂

@@boringdadgaming Doesn't Cthulhu's arrival result in mass insanity and destruction though? Even if it wasn't part of the final cut scene the implications are...not great 😂 But yeah, tbf it does seem like a personal win for Pierce.

I played the game around the time it came out and I would say the game was an enjoyable mess of a game. Now I wonder what horror game you plan on playing next?
