Beautiful truck David. I wish I had the money to buy it. But I would be afraid to drive it in the rust belt were I live. Love the old wrecker also. Record your work on your new project and you can decide what you want on line and what you do not want online. You should look at Eric's truck build, youtube channel recoveryteam he has been volunteering his truck and time for over a decade at events to pull people out. Stay safe and healthy David.

I just realized I saw your channel first, many years before seeing you on TFL (just saw it for the first time this summer). You're absolutely right about the long-distance being the big factor in a motor being a good fit or not. I drove my 12valve F700 from Nebraska to Kansas, about a 13 hour journey, and had to take ear plugs and ear muffs. I had a modified HE351 on at the time with a 4" straight pipe that dumped under the cab, and the turbo whistle would make my ears bleed. Now that I have a different turbo and 5" straight pipe that dumps out the back passenger side, it's MUCH more bearable. But it still "beats you up" when driving it for more than 4 hours at a time. My LBZ duramax on the other hand, I've driven 24 hours straight with no complaints, and it has a 4" straight exhaust from turbo to tailpipe.

David I have definitely enjoyed you on TFL. I would love to watch your project unfold. I don’t need an expert. I enjoy the journey. Good luck.

As a local in your area I always got a kick out of seeing your 3+3 and hearing that 12 valve!! Hit me up if you ever decide to part with that wrecker bed! I wish I never sold my Grandfathers wrecker. I sold it to RoadKill AKA HARRY TOW. Don't get me wrong it was a fun experience but wish I had that wrecker back!

Man what a beautiful truck and it's one I'd love to own but it went to a good home, I hope you post progress on the trail mater inspired build even if it's just shorts I think we all would like to see it. Keep up the good work brother

As much as I would love to be able to have this in my driveway, I think the enthusiasm of tfl fans will take it well out of my financial limits. Of course I want to see you get crazy stupid off the rails money for it.

damnit no, truck is iconic in my book! you should document the tow truck/ rock crawler build, most of us arent mechanics neither which makes it much more relatable for us. Keep making the videos, Ive always checked this channel to see if you came back and watch tfl all the time. You produce quality content and im sure other would agree!

I followed you for this build cummins swapped Personally I would say cummins swap your next project for a 6.7 cummins. I love the 12 valve and can sleep with the sound . Good luck 👍🏻

I like your idea for the truck. I would definitely watch all the build videos you post for this project. I hope you get big bucks out of your other truck to put into this one. I just recently subscribed when you mentioned doing this project over at TFL.

Hi david, i have couple of things to say, first of all i’m really sad to see the truck go, as a square body (especially GMC) fan this is to me the greatest tuck i have ever seen. The style the lift the 3+3, everything about it is just perfect and i really hope you can keep it. Second of all, it’s great to see you upload again! And yes please document your next project as much as you can.
