Time to put the FORD 5610 out to work! Is this tractor breathing too hard? Smoke or Steam?

The 5610 has been sympathetically restored but when we got her out for baling she was breathing hard with blow by coming out the breather. Apparently this is normally, but she needed some work to check. Love the video lad, I would use the ford,its old school simple and reliable .The father worked a New ford 7600 and it was blowing a bit from day 1. Still going strong

For your diff...pedal.. Get a bit of rubber pipe. Cut a piece leaving a vertical cut. So if required you can stomp down. A temp bodge.

Ford all day long and if I ever had the chance to own my own Ford it would be the mighty Ford 7000 in my eyes one of the best if not the best in its class at the time, always enjoy seeing one even now in action.

Lift ur topper before u start ur pto. Start and stop it straight away to let the topper turn then start it again. Pull the leaver gradually.

Yeah I mention this after I fix the shear bolt. Forgot to do it as was fannying around with camaras etc 😂

5610 , as I have bought myself a one owner 6610 with the ap cab like yours but mine is a 4wd , made me feel like a teenager again driving a 10 series after all these years 👌

Hi Jame, plenty of life in the Ford 6510 and running well, as much the Same is a modern tractor with creature comforts, I do like the old Ford myself. As always a great video Take care

Ford 5610 is a beast but for me the memories of riding in my uncle's Same silver 110 would probably nudge me towards it. I would say they are both lovely machines, would love too see you keep both if possible. Looking forward to the video of the Case 695, handy that it has a loader as well. Best wishes from Sweden! 😊❤

Hi James, I would like to say the Ford for old times sake I used to drive 10 series Fords from when I was a kid up to about 2002 but now I’m an old duffer I’d go for comfort and choose the Same.👍

I tried contacts they were weekly disposables. They said I'd struggle with my big hands and I did. Decided glasses are far easier for me. There's benefits to both, noticeably wearing ppe with machinery not steaming up your glasses 😂 Ford 5610 for me but I'm sure the Same is more comfortable and capable. Just love a classic 10 or 40 series.

Yeah, I’ve hated glasses ever since I’ve worn them, must be 10 years. If contacts don’t work might look at laser. I am going to buy a 40 series at some point, but with a Ford badge, none of the NH shite haha.

If I was paying the bills I'd have the Ford because I'm a cheapskate and hours on it will cost less. If I wasn't, I'd have the Same because it would be more comfortable.

Haha, yeah. When we were a dealer my tool box had communal tools in it that everyone could use if they needed extra or for special tools and I got fed up of going to it and find loads of bits missing lol so when I bought new ones, I labeled them “James Only” 😂😂

I just bought a 86 5610 and it’s around 70 degrees and at idle it won’t get above 130 on a aftermarket temp gauge. Does yours take a long time to warm up. I also just changed out the thermostat. If I take it out and put it to work it’ll get to 188-190 after some time

Use the 5610 on the topper, you don't want too many hps going through the pto. Spent enough time rebuilding small toppers having too big tractor on them.

The socket head cap screw you put in probably was a 10.9 or higher grade, they normally are a higher grade than 8.8.

To answer your question I'd have likely used the Samé on this occasion as I have allergies, I'm guessing that one has AC & HEPA filters with it being newer. I'd definitely be jumping in that Ford for other jobs though if I had one. Could you collect that grass and compost it or is it better to leave it?

I did say to max. We should be post banging with the 5610 and topping with the Same haha. We did think about baling it but there is so much grass in it, I don’t think we will get the weather.

I had a 5610 4wheel drive for a few years good solid tractor but now i run 2 same dorados i dont think i would go back the sames are cheaper on fuel your 5610 will be a great handy tractor for somebody

so much for mike doing his job and getting it ready for work, top link sized solid and diff lock sized and wont return lol good job it wasn't breathing a lot as topping is not hard work for a tractor and wouldn't of helped it if it was,

Never said we were finished 😂 Top link was off another tractor, diff lock not seized just pedal not returning, in fact the I didn’t take anything to pull it back up. But yes needs looking at and topping is the hardest job I currently have for it, and it made he fart. Alternative is put her on a dyno for half a day at a huge expense. Unless you would like to set me up a go fund me haha.
