Reel 2.
01:36:00 An attempt to land an airship on an aircraft carrier is shown. Various shots of the airship approaching the ship. There is a funny moment when water ballast is dropped and lots of men on deck get soaked. After much bouncing on deck the airship lands.
01:36:38 Shot of a liner under sail then footage of an aircraft taking off from the liner in order to speed up the mail. Shot of the biplane as it flies over the liner.
01:36:56 A transport invention - a machine designed to skim the water at great speed- neither airborne nor seaborne. A kind of hovercraft type vehicle. Various shots of it speeding along on a stretch of water.
01:37:24 Low angle shot of an Imperial Airways aircraft. Shot of the plane taxiing along the ground. Aerial view of Croydon airport then shot of the control tower with aircraft circling it. Plane comes into land. Various shots of planes taxiing.
01:38:15 M/S of passengers embarking on a journey upon an Imperial Airways aircraft. Narrator states: "In all its years of operation Imperial Airways never killed a passenger." Various shots of people boarding planes and the planes taking off.
01:38:39 More passengers embark upon a plane - they are to be the first passengers to ever see a motion picture film in mid air - it is a a kind of flying cinema! A film is handed to one of the men who climbs aboard.
01:38:56 Interior of the aircraft - cinema screen is seen and the men inside the aircraft sit huddled together watching a film. We can't see what their "in flight entertainment" actually is.
01:39:05 Various shots of the Caproni Flying Boat (?) in Italy. Passengers climb aboard. Narrator states that to the best of his knowledge although designed to take passengers to New York, it never managed to leave Italy.
01:39:33 M/S of man working on a propellor. L/S of a really weird aircraft taking off - strange sausage shaped airship. Man operating the propellor device can be seen balancing in a little cage underneath the air filled sausage. When the aircraft lands, there is a little crash.
01:40:10 Hot air balloons are seen - very old fashioned thick looking balloons. People wave as they take off. Various shots of crowds watching and a man having a go at "balloon jumping" - bouncing up and down on the ground whilst attached to a hot air balloon.
01:40:40 Classic footage of the man in his hot air balloon bath. C/U of him sitting in his bath before take off then shots of the bath being lifted above the ground by hot air balloon. Top shot of the man pretending to have a wash in the bath. Seen from the point of view of the balloon!
