Today's video was recorded last week in the middle of some very wet and cold weather. Things were bad in terms of grass growth and the cattle just weren't happy but I was out in the 390 for its first proper run and it did not disappoint.
Love the 390 ! well done on a great machine. I worked at MF as a test driver in the 80's and my job was testing the 300 series so I have a real soft spot for them. Hope she is good to you and keep up the videos

Looks great Karen only one thing if i may is from a Dairy Back ground when we were cutting if it was clumping and rowing as well then the speed is to high and revs to low. If you are picking up for Bales after all well and good but in your instance i doubt helping much at all. As we all know Oxygen helps every thing grow so where clumping no oxygen so rot appears to nothing and kills all beneath at the same time. Just a suggestion to try in one small area and not difficult to see if it works. Love how excited you are to have the larger one to rip through the work as any thing to save time is good. Keep at it and you just have to find that happy medium as you go. . Aissue Bob.

Isn't it wonderful having a great big tractor to use? I love mine so much. Those topped fields look great. The fat lip wasn't even noticeable. Had you not said anything, I for sure would have never known. Prayers that your grass grows as tall as you need as soon as possible.
Karen that topping certainly improved the area & hopefully will grow more useful feed. If you were near me my lawn would feed your stock for awhile...lol. Delighted seeing the new tractor & I hope it serves you troublefree for aslong as you want. Keep 'er Lit.
You made my day seeing the 390 in action, a real tractor like the 135. I couldn't cope with all these modern computerised tractors, give me the classic ones. Please be careful with that pro shaft, I was a Paramedic for 40 years after being a tractor / combine driver and I've seen what can happen. Nice to see the 390 doing a fine job. What a difference the topping makes. 👍👍 As you say, topping them up is t ideal, but you do have the bales this year.
Great work Karen and your Massey 390 is a great investment . High temperatures forecast for this week so hope your grass shoots up quickly . Good luck with your great work .

Hi Karen, what a great video !! Wow what a great transformation with the topper !! We had a wee bit of rushes in one of our fields and once you topped it it was like wow thats tidied it up enormously !! You will be fair enjoying the 390 I bet you were grinning from lug to lug when you was topping !! Hopefully you’ll get a bit of heat and your grass will jump especially with the fert on !! Wow, Amsterdam this year and Blackwater last year for the hen parties. I think we both know which was more lively with its "interesting" live shows, and the like, but Amsterdam is not bad either I was there a few years ago 😅 Love the 390 👌

Beautiful job chopping up those rushes, they will be good fertilizer and let the good grass grow. You shoukd broadcast some treefoil or timothy seed over the rushes before you spread manure and put it on thick.

Our already natural beautiful Karen had her lips done, only joking about the lip part. Topping the rushes is the only common sense way to keep them down because trust me in the North West we have them in abundance and no amount of spraying kills them even ploughing or turning over with our digger didn't stop them. Lovely 390 and a pretty girl pilot too. Be happy be safe. X
I’m glad you got a girls weekend you deserve it working full time and on the farm wish I was younger I would fly over and give you a hand I just love cows and you look great behind the wheel of the tractors hope the grass gets going here in the us we have had nothing but rain also since last summer never went over 80 hoping for a better summer this year for you and I❤
Another great video nice to see the 390 and happy to hear you are pleased with it,now the top link looked to short for the tractor Massey’s have long lower link arms and need a long top link so just be careful not to strip the treads and have an implement crash to the ground even worse if it was the spreader and pto engaged,safety is paramount with machinery.Lucky your lip took the impact and not chip one of your nice pearly whites just be careful 👍🏼😀😊 can you not hire a weed wiper as another control on those dam rushes.
Yes I need to get a longer top link because that one barely fits. I could get a weed wiper but we can't use it unless we do a course which I keep saying either myself or Dad will do and then it gets put on the long finger
We get semi loads of organic chicken manure and spread it on pastures with lime...sulfur and boron....maybe you need to seed it with clover with a no till drill this summer
I would love to have some experience on a cattle farm but i am 41 and have never been near any farm and know nothing about it. I love cattle though and feel i would like to look after them on a day to day basis. If theres no thunder, thats my weakness 😂
