The crux of the disagreement regarding the topic is the definition of “invention”. The pastor looked at this from the perspective of how Christianity evolved regarding the individuals, persons or groups who penned the scriptures. His main argument was that it wasn’t the Piso family which wrote the New Testament. He, however, failed to separate the king Piso from the entire family as Avram pointed. It wasn’t jut a single individual. Avram, on the other hand, viewed “invention” as lifting passages from the Old Testament and in most instances distorting such as revelations or prophecies in the New Testament. In our current environment, we could refer to such a photoshopped from the Old Testament to “invent” the New Testament. In effect, Avram sees such photoshopping as an invention (creating something new from the old) while in actual fact nothing new has been created. What’s astonishing is the pastor recounting a historical sequence without making a solid connection to the salient facts as to where and when the Bible was written; and presumably also by who (if discounting the Piso factor). Avram on the other hand was able to indicate that the new was “invented” ( created) from the old and distorted. In sum, they look at “invention” from different angles but Avram was more succinct in joining the dots. I am by no means suggesting that the pastor is wrong. What l imply is that he should have made the connection between the history and the evolution of the New Testament.

i think Avram made justice to his paraphrasing submission whereas i think the Pastor should have had time to buttress his points by connecting the historical facts to the writings of the new testaments if there was one

The pastor gave us a history background but failed to point out in the bible the real topic on board.. do the pastors teach this history in their churches? For u to give proof of something is legit u have to use the same bible or book to justify your point in which Avraham did that using the same bible to proof his points. It only tells you how terrible we are. If he knew any of the history of any African empire like this or even his own akan history, that will have been useful to our African consciousness. Abraham is the one doing great work. Encouraging us to uphold our self identity as Africans.
The pastor is wrong to say that there should not be a biblical quote when talking about THE HISTORICAL JESUS. The story in the Bible is itself historical. The story about Jesus is therefore historical.
Avram made a clear case to show that the new testament plagiarized (copied) the old testament. How can pastor history teacher ignore plagiarized work?! This pastor did not come to debate if the new testament was invented. He came to tell Avram it could not have been invented by the people Avram claims invented it.

The pastor should have asked for clarification from Avram before starting his submission. I'm sure Avram is talking about organised religion known as Christianity (where by they sat down and made rules and agreed on doctrine and dogma) being the invention. Of course there were followers of christ around before that (the disciples for example). It's like saying nobody played football in Ghana until the FA was formed.
Freethinker 1 The belief or religion of the disciples and jesus himself was called judaism. Christianity and Islam came out of judaism. All three of them are Abrahamic religions. The main difference between these religions is that christians believe jesus is the son of God and jesus is god. Both judaism and islam strongly disagree with that idealogy.

Am hugely disappointed in the Evangelist and his companion Doctor.They did not do themselves any justice at all.Firstly you can't prove the existence of a historical fact by just referring to or relying on one source,rediculouse.so just traveling to Accra to just condemn Abraham on the inconsistencies in the writers of the new testament or dates is below their calibre. Intellectuals debate this issue by citing historical evidence based on write ups,archeology etc and more importantly the bible it self which is the primary source of evidence.Therefore Avraham has done a great painful research by identifying how they pick versus in the old testament and then fix them in the new and there are many. The Evangelist failed to use the primary source of evidence which is the bible to prove the source of the New testament.The historical write ups are no more important than believing Mary got impregnated by a Holly spirit or we not having any evidence about the extended of the characters except in the bible???.

There is a difference between argument and debate, Debates yield understandable results while arguments leave both parties unsatisfied... Anyway the history by the pastor is correct, it is also true Evraham did not get the historical facts or points right but it does not disproof the fact that the bible has discrepancies.,,,,, and that is the point.
One suggestion / advice I will give to Avram is that, he should work on his emotions. If he is able to do that, It will catapult this revolution very far. I hope he will listen. He should try to stay very calm. It is a weakness that if not managed well, it can affect.
This is the first time someone asked Avraham to cite his sources and he failed miserably. You can't claim that the Piso family invented the New Testament and refuse to produce your sources. It's a gutter-style of argument. The Piso family story is pseudohistory, originating around the 18th century. That aside, what's incredibly worrying is that Avraham criticizes history but quotes it where it "suits" him. As someone purporting to educate, providing your sources so that people can go verify them is the least you can do. He's also not smart. You can't prove that the Bible wasn't invented, with the Bible. You have to prove it with evidence from external material. I'm not sure he's had to prove anything to anyone before and would suffer a lot in a dialogue style debate.

This Evangelist is just talking about a history book he read period and it’s justified that the book was invented by some people. I was waiting for him to say something about God inspiration to the existence of the book and he kept talking about emperors and empires
I think the ''invention'' Avram's said meant certain verses in the new testament were designed from the old testament which i think the pastor needed to show those new testament verses were not actually from the old testament... He could have done this on the 2nd time given to him.

who writes "history"?, do you think they have any interests in writing "history"? and do you think their biases influence "history"?, education doesn't stop with cramming dates and textbooks.
The pastor did well with his research and explanation about the correction of the historical narration and citing his references to validate his argument but in trying to defend himself further he put himself at fault. The theme of the discussion was THE INVENTION OF THE NEW TESTAMENT, but all that the pastor said was to discredit Avraham's claims about his narration of history which Avraham conceded to. Nowhere in the argument did the pastor say anything about how the New Testament came about and why it should be validated. Avraham on the other hand made his points well by telling us where in the Old Testament certain quotations were picked from, modified, and reused in the New Testament. It was well of the pastor to show us the shortcomings of Avraham's historical account but he should have backed his points by telling us how he believes the New Testament came about and prove to us why his is credible.
