Me parece muy interesante 👍 me gustaría saber más acerca de éste tipo de configuración música imagen, espero no dejes de subir el contenido completo aquí en tú canal, saludos desde Chile . Muchas gracias por el tiempo.
Yes you have to cue up the clip in some way. There are some ways to send signals like osc or midi triggers to do that more automatically. And no it doesn’t defeat the purpose. The musician can start the track half way, speed it up, stop and start, and it will stay in time. You can also cue it whenever you want, and it will be perfectly in time as soon as timecode comes in.
Hey dude just wanted to thank you for putting this channel together. Your videos really helped me out over the past couple days. I took a gig as an LED tech and the day before the show I found out it was Really a VJ gig. Your content helped me put together a great show in a pinch
It’s probably just because you spell your name the right way, so you’re a badass and pulled it off. but I’ll accept a small amount of credit lol. Hell yeah! That’s awesome. Love to hear it 🤘
@@SeanBowes haha couldn’t agree more. It’s looking like I’m going to be getting booked more locally in Nashville. If your ever in the area I’d love to invite you out to a show
Hey, thanks a lot for the videos! I've been a LD for 15years and just now jumping into video world. I got to ask, is there really no way to input timecode through artnet/osc/any other internal format? Feels stupid to get an external source during programming just for the resolume :D
At the moment Resolume only takes in SMPTE audio. Usually I would use Showkontrol or TimeCode Live to get timecode over network, and then showkontrol sends the SMPTE audio out to resolume. You can also use ProDJLink, Ableton LInk, and Denon LInk to link directly to a DJ over network. but thats a little different. Hopefully they implement it directly in the future, that would be great!
Happy to indulge your curiosities. Hopefully you feel a little bit more confident about your understanding of timecode. Look out for more on the subject soon!
Awesome video once again! One question: I am a VJ at a night club where different DJ's come every weekend and all the operating is done on the fly now. Timecode isn't really relative for my situation correct? I am trying out Pro DJ Link soon to see how that works out. Do you think that is the way to go for my current situation?
True, it might be rare that you will need timecode as the house guy at a club. Showkontrol could be useful just for spying on the decks to see what’s coming, and help you handle occasional timecode tasks like an intro or something. Pro Dj Link could work in the same way. Let me know how you like it!
This does work with live mixing? I mean if the dj its playing randomly and the visuals are not edited for the song but i think that the visual would work for that especific song that is playing would sync as well?
Technically yes you can drive any video you want with timecode, but without them being specificly matched to the song it might not have much benefit to do so
What if the clip transport drop down doesn't show SMPTE ? I have the audio input side setup, and SMPTE monitor visible and working. But the clip only offers Timeline and BPM under transport options...
If the clip has audio just press the X above the pink section in the Clips panel. Resolume will remove the audio. Then the SMPTE will appear in drop down menu.
