I had the previous version of the headphones, the EDGE model, and I was not impressed. The main drawback of that model was its microphones and the listening mode through the phone. Passing the headphone or holding the phone under the other person's nose was extremely inconvenient, so I sold my headphones. As I understand, this version can provide translation directly to my ear without the phone's microphone, and the new microphones ensure decent quality and range with the speaker? The most important thing for me is the listening mode, so I can understand what I'm being told without using additional devices or pressing buttons... The device is interesting, and if its capabilities are confirmed by customer reviews, I will definitely order it for myself.

Interesting take on the previous version! If you get this new model, pop back and let us all know your thoughts!

I've been trying to get a straight answer on the model l want to try. W4 pro interpretor. The website says it translates Filipino and accepts the accent of Philippines but when l asked if it translates Tagalog which is the main language in the Philippines they really can't give me a straight answer,.basically they say it doesn't accept it but does accept Filipino! Like really?? What is that even supposed to mean???

@@RBV1962 Unfortunately, there are no reviews or feedback, only advertisements, even though more than two weeks have passed. For example, I am particularly interested in how well the microphones can pick up the sound from a television or a conversation in a noisy environment. Is it possible to hear what someone is saying to you in a foreign language while being outside?

@@RBV1962I find myself having a similar issue I am going to the in laws in a month I would like it to translate Moroccan Arabic (Darija) but it says it does not translate Darija just Arabic with Moroccan accent. I am not sure what that means would it be compatible?

Im really interested in these. I live in Indonesia and really struggle with listening comprehension. I'm totally immersed in Indonesian most days a d get quite lost in several conversations. This might help me follow conversations when im lost.

Definitely worth a shot, even if it helps just for contextual information - I’d say they’d be worth their weight in gold! The smaller ones also do this too 👍

Stu, Once you get the earbuds, what other needs are there? Do you only need to download a specific app to your phone (iPhone 12)? Do you need to purchase a handheld device to keep in your pocket as a mediation, or hub device? Aside from the W4 Pro, I am sure that I will also get a handheld for when I am speaking with more than one person. I have seen other handhelds with big screens with one feature that is very smart. As you hold the device in your hand facing the other person, the text on your half is right side up so you can read and the other half is upside down to you so the other person can read. A simple and smart feature but rare.

Do you have to share earbuds in order to hear Real time ?

I have the WT2 Edge, and I find it very accurate (80-90%) if we both use the earbuds in a quiet location. When translating from the phone, it was ok. It can pick up people from about 3 meters away, but it wasn't accurate beyond 2 meters (20-40%). Within 1 metre, it was ok to use the phone microphone. From reading reviews online, I see that the Spanish translation is bad, but I'm using it in Thai and find it to be good. You need to speak loudly and clearly, which makes the device work very well. It has to connect to the internet, so if you connect to a good wifi signal, it works very well in real time once the other person stops talking. When going out and using 5G, it really depends on your connection where in Thailand, 5G is really good here and I didn't really have a problem unless the 5G was bad such as in shopping centres it would lag by 2-5 seconds. I'm guessing the people saying it takes a while to translate (over 10 seconds) are due to them having a cheap phone (weak CPU) + bad internet, whereas I have a good Samsung Phone. It does take a bit of battery power when you have been talking for an hour, so take a power bank with you. I can finally have a long conversation with my Thai girlfriend and her family, which is about 80 to 90% accurate we both are wearing an earbud. You need to talk loudly and clearly, limit your speech to 5 sentences max (best accuracy), and then stop talking. I find it to be a lot more accurate than Google Translate. It's worth the money if you ask me compared to getting your phone out all the time and typing for it to translate, whereas Google Translate isn't good if you type more than a couple sentences or even less. With this device, every time someone speaks, you can see on your phone in both languages (next to each other or split screen), so you must repeat yourself again, loud and clear, or say it differently to get the point across in real-time for the translation was wrong. I found it worked the best (90% accuracy) when people were a little drunk cause they spoke a lot louder. If the translation is bad, you repeat yourself, just like in real life every day when someone doesn't hear you. Speaking louder and more clearly is the key for it to work well where I do mumble a little bit. Speak as if you are talking to more than one person in a room and want to get an important point across for very high translation accuracy. You can talk fast and it will work fine but once again, it best to speak clearly and a little louder. Kind of like speaking to someone that knows a little of your language, so you speak a little louder and clearly but you don't have to speak slow with this device. Be formal and avoid any slang. Technology still isn't quite there yet, but I'm glad I can have some conversation with people I know who don't speak English. Now, I walk into a hotel or shop in a foreign country, for example, one that doesn't speak English, put my phone on the counter or in front of me, put 1 earbud in my ear, and then start talking. When I stop talking, it translates into their language on my phone. Then I click the button for the language they speak, in near real-time, once they stop talking, to tell me what they say in my earbud in English. I can then press on my phone for English or tap my earbud and speak again if needed. For extended conversations, I give the person the other earbud. The best part is that it stays on until you exit the program, so you can walk around with your non-English-speaking friend and talk to them randomly. You will need a power bank after an hour or so cause it kills your phone's battery life. I'm interested in whether the W4 Pro translates better than the WT2 Edge. The W4 Pro case looks twice as big as the WT2 Edge. I love how small the WT2 Edge is in my pocket.

I have timekettle wt2 edge translation buds, but the translation is annoyingly slow behind the speaker and inaccurate. What’s the improved with w4? My experience is watching a spanish speaking movie.

Can’t speak for the wt2 edge, but these were behind by a few seconds. Ultimately they always will be as language to translate needs contextual sentences. Don’t think we will ever be able to get instant until they can predict what we will say/translate our thoughts!

Thank you for your introduction, Is the translation speed of the dialogue really fast? Just like the normal dialogue?
@StusReviewsUK
@StusReviewsUK 19 дней назад
It’s a bit delayed, but that’s natural because of the language context the translation needs. I’d say it’s maybe 3-4 seconds behind the person you’re talking to (from the demo)
