For the first time I finally have a good sense of how the property is laid out. I had a hard time seeing it before. Couldn’t figure out where exactly y’all were building the raised beds but I see it now! Amazing job, that’s quite the vision y’all have there
Last few vids Nicole was looking like she was breaking inside. Nothing she would say or do just her face and eyes portrayed the look of defeat...when I watched your proposal I was like.." yes!!!.. just what her soul needed"..afterall us girls may be tough but emotional we need to be fed..This video was amazing to watch..you could see her spirit has been revived!! Yes she has lived beyond tuff and worked her ass off ..giving her a sense of normal like a real building must be huge for her... So glad to see her glowing again and her beauty just shining! Girl got her sparkle back!!! Whoot whoot! You got this girl! Most of us would of walked away a year ago so you must know my hat is off to you and sending much respect!!!
Place is coming along great glad you covered it up from the rain can't wait to see the garden all the fruits and vegetables and herbs straight Epic self-sustainability keep up the great work
You two are the most hard working couple we watch . The others work hard . But you two work so hard to achieve what you have . You both inspirational been watching you both for over two years . And you work really hard . Any new views watching go watch some of there early videos . They achieve so much . Cannot wait till the bedroom got all your lovely things in it . . I would connect it not be nice getting up on them rainy days and next winter . To get back to yut. 🥶🥰😊
The aerial footage at the beginning of the video really puts into perspective how much work you 2 have done since the start of this journey. My jaw dropped to say the least. The raised beds look like they are gonna keep you fed full time this year. Can't wait to see the fruit tree's and the gardens in a few months!!
What a great build! i was wondering what would happen with it when i saw it unloaded on the dock. the drone shots were very nice. It gave a great perspective of the homestead and your closeness to the water. I think the closing scene of jake sitting down and looking over what you two have accomplished was a great touch. You two HAVE done a lot! The place looks fantastic! well done!
You and Nic are doing so wonderful you both work so hard. I think I have watched most of the videos so I now how much work you two have done. My husband and I bought are beautiful place in the Mts of West Virginia. We bought are homestead when we turned 60. Now we are in our seventies and still have a lot of things we want to do. But we are going slow and steady. We love it and it’s good for us. Also our kids and grandkids love to come and stay with us. Keep up what your doing. And all your dreams will come through.
Nobody can ever say you two don't work hard for your future living off grid, you two are just amazing. Just be kind to yourselves and have a day off to enjoy and look what you have achieved. Please don't burn yourselves out as we love to watch your achievement videos. hugs UK
You took the words right out of my mouth at 22:30. I'm sure the joints were nice and tight at the factory with low humidity. Then you brought the boards outside in a damp, humid environment so they swelled up just that few thousandths of an inch, making each joint a pain to drive together. It was more work, but luckily everything went together without breaking(?).
This is gonna be great. I am happy for you both but especially for Nicole; she is so excited about it. When you call the puppies, "Blue Boy" I am reminded of the old TV show, "The High Chapperel"!
Time lapse is a viewers best friend...we still get to see everything and it all fits into one episode. I really want to thank you for the time and efforts you invest in editing for our viewing pleasure and your level of quality continues to improve...well done you two!
You guys show me what real life living is a lot of hard work. I know now i would have been dead a year ago so my hat is off to both of you you are special folks. hang in there and be careful.
You guys need to plant some citronella plants in pots to naturally repel the mosquitos. I grew up in the Deep South, and we were infested especially during the summers. Citronella works!
Jake and Nicole thanks for all the great content you guys produce I really enjoy seeing what to creative hardworking people can accomplish when combine their thoughts and effort
You guys are Awesome! You 2 have to have lots of strength and stamina. My Ojibwa ancestors in the Michigan Upper Peninsula were incredible survivors. So I respect all that you 2 do.
Yins are doing a great job. Grats on Engagement. She definitely is a tough awesome beautiful lil woman 😁 watching this video now. Great job thus far. Keep up the great work. And don't mind the people that bash and hate. You need haters.! They motivate. Us true fans will always keep watching. Nothing wrong with cutting trees down and chipping wood. Do what makes yins happy. Hi 5
I came across you’re videos a couple of week back. I have nothing but admiration for what you’ve both already achieved up to now in a relatively short space of time. I honestly can not wait to see those gardens in mid summer. This last 12 months have been very hard for me but I’m coming through it now and I’m working towards sharing the same level of positivity you both have.
Hello, Nicole, hello, Jackie. I love you. I am an Arab follower and I write this comment through Google Translate. I hope you read my comment. I love to watch your clips and love what you do. I do not understand the foreign language.💯💖💖🇸🇾

Funny watching the people who almost have never lived off the grid but are campers give their 2 cents of which no one asked for. I love watching what your doing and have lived off grid over ten years. This makes me want to return to that lifestyle. Blessings to you both. But I would have done it this way........ha ha ha. Love it n thank you.
Maybe someone already said it but if your going to be cutting all that lumber, get a portable sawmill.( Woodmizer and I think they do free delivery) It's just too expensive and too time consuming to use a chainsaw mill to cut lumber. Just a suggestion. Have fun.
With a saw mill. you almost have to have heavy equipment to lift and move logs to the mill, or break your back trying. The chainsaw allows logs to be cut near or where they fall. It seems easier and faster in the long run.
@@SoloHiker1 Yes, you're probably right. The ones I've seen are stationary and have to be taken apart and hauled in pieces, then leveled, so a pain to move. I did see a video where 4 people tried loading a log on a sawmill by hand and it took a long time with big prybars etc. I'll look around to see what is available in smaller sizes. Always like to see new things. Thanks.
You guys are awesome. Love following your videos and have learned so much and applied the gardening tips and techniques ya'll use to try and mirror it at my home, just on a smaller scale. But last week, I got careless while using a power miter saw, and cut my right thumb, into the bone. Long story short, I now have a cast on after surgery to let this thing heal. So my garden is moving at a way slower pace. But I can't thank ya'll enough for all the insite and lessons and even just the way ya'll love and laugh through it all. Extraordinary!
Energy that boggles the mind, vision that is an inspiration to everyone watching. You both are captivating our inner I wish I had. Wilber in South Carolina. BTW what breed are your Dogs 🐕 ( a must have in Bear 🐻 & Cougar country).
I wouldn't let the public know where you are. Before you know it you'll have prowlers and trouble. It would be nice to see you out on the town or maybe having family come and stay. And record them enjoying the elements. Your girl deserves a date night once a week or every other week. All work and no play will get old.
Love the garden beds but the planks should be on the inside of the logs, like a retaining wall, so you aren’t relying on the nails to hold back the dirt in the beds, especially when the planks season a bit over time and start to warp or twist a little. Just a suggestion.
That is the biggest distraction - the place looks like *crap* They never clean up anything. Hell, I'd love to watch a 1 hr video of them cleaning up *LOL*
Congrats to you both for sticking it out together, with your love and respect to one another. It's hard work but I have faith for you, as you both are beautiful souls and positive, strong human beings. Love your videos! Stay safe beautiful people! 🤗🤗
Here is something that was written in the early 1900's and hangs in my custom jewelry store," A man who works with his hands is a Laaborer. A man who works with his hands and his mind is a Craftsman. A man who works with his hands, his mind and his Heart is an Artist." You guys are in the 'last' catagory:)
Hi Jake and Nicole, Its Awesome to see how much progress you've made on your homestead., even with so much to do. But I know it's going to be amazing...you have both put so much effort into it...BRAVO!
Hello, Here in Brazil there are a lot of forests, but people don't have that adventurous spirit, they prefer to be in the cities, squeezing and breathing phone gas. congratulations i'm watching all your videos, a perfect couple. Dude you have a companion sent by God, congratulations.
I have watched you guys from the beginning. I can’t believe how much you guys have accomplished since you have been there. You are creating your own paradise completely off grid. Nicole you are one amazing woman and I love your Nicholistic channel.
@@hmorgan8387 Would have to be a pretty tight fit to keep out the wind. And the walls can only be R2 or 3 so if you like a cold bedroom it would be great.
Just Love your work and building with your Wife. I look forward to new things every week. Thank you. You two work so well together. 100 % perfect on all you build.
It's bad to cut a hole in the yurt plastic, plus then your going to have to cut into the expanding lattes could compromise the whole yurt, although the yurt came with a front door, maybe order the right door and frame from pacific yurt and re attach the lattes the same as your front door. use the extra green exterior plastic for top and sides to help with sealing the top and the sides. just stay way below that upper cable, you won't have to mess with that. might order some extra green plastic, vinyl to span the top and part of the side. you'll still need some rain buster sealer 2000 = really good caulking, wish I could draw a picture. P.S. don't over cut the lattes, too much is better then to little.
Nice click bait to start with. Have really enjoyed watching the team effort in building your dreams. The two of you are such a great couple. Thanks for sharing the adventure!
Nice .. I just found ur utube n I’m amazed.. ur land n life n u two are stunning.. I’m a old lady n would have been happy back in the day to live ur lifestyle.. I picked all the wrong mates .. now single living with orphaned granddaughter with cancer age 19 round two.. scary so glad u choose a healthy life.. I’m planting as many fruit trees as I can.. afford as we go
Why is there a Gap at the top of your window I think you placed your windows in backwards because the inside trim is taller than that outside trim you currently have???
@FilthyGlock26 he doesn't mean as in he gave the video a thumbs up, he means he enjoyed the video. You should not be so rude to random people rather, be nice to them.
Hi Jake & Nicole, I've been following your love story from day one, and what a story! You're like a pair of super humans, with incredible stamina, and thriving on sheer hard work. What you've achieved is simply amazing, and all through the harshest of weathers, and the pesky mosquitoes. I loved watching you assemble the Bunkie Cabin, a beautiful structure, built to last, and great team work by the A-team assemblers! you really are a pair of grafters. You must be the most inspirational couple of all time! Thank you both for bringing us into your amazing world.
Yes I played with Lincoln Logs so the building of the bunkie seems like a great idea? I noticed how clean the lumber was hardly any knots in the wood. make sure you show us how the first nite in bunkie went?LOL
Morning Folks, Great seeing you getting the Bunkie up, makes it easier when it's like lego, click together, Can't wait to see end product, You two have so much respect for each other you are a great team, Raised beds are coming along nicely, Until next week, Stay Safe.💖🌈💖🌈
Hello my friends, I am a fan of your work and how beautiful the weather is for you. I hope to be with you one day in order to live the best day. Thank you. Continue with your work. I like it.
The windows are the wrong way they are meant to open from the outside strange i kno but my cabins that way also you need to insulate the floor as in the winter so much cold comes up threw it if you dont.
@@warpig4516 i kno thays why i said its strange how they are made but the handles go on the outside and you can tell by looking at the window they have a big gap at the top also the frame is bigger on one side wich goes on the outside.
@@warpig4516 no the windows come pre built and even tho its a log cabin because of the small size of it they arent made to live in they are for the garden mine is 5 meters by 4 meters and its still classed as a summer room.
@@sandeebrown9860 i think of them not as degrading, but empowering. they are using her to attract more viewers to get more money, its smart. I understand how it is "Male-gazey" though....
The authenticity with which you live your lives is amazing! Your commitment to what you’re doing and each other is inspirational. The booty shots of Nicole are disappointing, cheap and well diminishing of her power as a woman. Booty and titties you can get all over the internet, strength and empowerment is a rare find.
