It probably shouldn't be, considering how many other drawings on this channel Mr.Finch has done, but this has to be my favorite drawing , the foreshortening, the dynamic pose, the line work, the energy in the line, and the negative shapes that really make it pop, everything is perfect in my opinion.
you killed this commission piece David. Your attention to detail and shadows is remarkable. Thanks so much for sharing this vid with us. I truly get inspired every time I watch one of your videos. Cheers,
Wow, man! I love the style of pencils and inking that David does! I laughed each time I thought he might be done rendering and then he’d add more details, lol. So cool! This is sped up so what is the actual time spent on this, one or two hours or more? Wow, again! Was this done for a fan at a convention? Great job! I heard that Jason Fabok was trained by him and it shows in Jason’s awesome artwork! I go through many comics and art books for both of these guys great art on my channel and will continue to do more all the time! Thanks for sharing this drawing video!
Thanks so much! I never know when to stop... I think it took me two hours real time. This was a commission, but drawn here in my studio yesterday. I have a list to get through since people preordered for upcoming conventions. With shows cancelled for a while, I'm getting through them here. I appreciate the support!
David Finch You’re welcome, man! I hope you will continue to have your camera setup to show all the drawings you’re doing! I love to watch artists draw and gain some style tips! I just made a video, in three parts, of me drawing a Wolverine head shot for a ‘Pop Contest’ winner a month ago for my channel! I’ll do more as I go along and use some tips I’ve learned from you and others! Thanks again for sharing!
Amazing drawing and great to watch you ink! I love the the fact that you basically use the same inking tools as I do 😃 I like it most when you ink your own drawings, those are your best pieces 💪🏻✌🏻
Awesome. Shadow work really made him pop big time. Would love any tips and/or tricks in reference to foreshortening in future videos! This channel is about to become the real deal, thanks Mr Finch
@@DavidFinchartist Yes pls do, and can you go advanced for guys like me as well. I want to know your thoughts on pushing forms forwards using foreshortening beyond the basic long longer longest understanding! Thanks for your videos Dave!
@@DavidFinchartist I think I can help with that seeing that I own a few of them- You blocked the shadows using Pentel Pigment Ink Brush Pen - Extra Fine ASIN :B002GKCDPW Hatching was done using Tombow Fudenosuke Brush Pen ASIN :B019Z6T2PI
AWESOME work! You took a third-rate villain and made him into a superstar! Ilike the edge-light on the leg and the clothing on the left arm. Amazing work, David!
Dave, I’ve always loved your pencils and now seeing you ink your own work and how that has ratcheted up the detail and line work in it is crazy! Keep being awesome man!!!
@david finch I have brush pens that come pre-filled with paint/ink. Are the ones you use in this also pre-filled? If so, what kind of medium is it filled with?
U are a Master! I tip my 🎩 off 2 u… nice to see some ink for a change, now everybody does digital and u can just sit there and not have to master anything bcuz u can clean mistakes with a button. With black ink u have minimal room for mistakes… plus it looks wayyy better to me.
Awesome dude. I really find these speed drawings helpful. Seeing a pro do a drawing start to finish puts all the lessons together into one quick easy to watch format. Funny story. I was watching this on my phone while a plumber was repairing pipes in my bathroom ten feet away. Couldn’t figure out why he was peering around the corner with a look of horror on his face. Then it dawned on me. He could hear the music and thought I was watching porn. Lol!
I don't know how much time it took you to do that piece, Dave, but judging from the other comments and my own opinion, you could upload the realtime version and we would all sit glued to the screen throughout 😁 Excellent work 🤘
It took about two hours. I like realtime, and that'll be most of my content, but I figure it's good to put up some quick drawing things too. I'll be on with Jimmy later this week doing a live drawing. Hope to see you there!
