This is a beautiful bridge and the design is very unique, functional, and is accessible for people with disabilities. An ingenious and elegant combination of form, function, simplicity, and beauty.
John Simpson Kirkpatrick Historian this is a fucking disaster of engineering sure the video is nice, but if you have any kind of instruction, you would have called it out for what it was; a fucking mess and a poor decision from anyone who manages this area, local/municipal and otherwise
@ilaudesigns there is a notice board for the day's bridge opening, people are vacated off the bridge before it is tilted. There is even a gate blocking people from entering while it's being tilted, it's shown at the end of the video.
hahahahahhahahahaha holy shit the ending. I stopped paying attention to this video like 30 seconds in then switched back to this page as soon as the ending started scrolling. That's the funniest thing I've seen all week.
Visually, very stunning, but at what point does a novelty like this become less economical than just building a straight span across the water that's high enough for the boats to pass? Does anyone know the cost associated with operating this bridge?
Eunice Reyes you are very stupid and ignorant if you think this baffling stupidity will still be in operation by now If it is, it will be costing millions to taxpayers, for literally nothing
Wait...they have this amazing tricked out bridge that is fun to watch in motion AND then they have a guy walk over and M A N U A L L Y unlocks and opens a number of gates / doors on each side! How funny is that?
They need a manual entrance as a second safety reason. If it was all computer or counter weighted is more likely for the bridge to not be fully down when pedestrians cross. It was probably a health and safety feature
Ah so Grasshopper. Ending message not true, but funny anyway. "Aint' over" 'til time runs out on the vid and I AM paying attention, wondering why you let the film go the extra time. Nevertheless, I loved seeing the bridge operate.
In order for pedestrians to walk over a bridge high enough for a boat to cross under, it would be a steep climb and not accessible for people with disabilities or a parent pushing a baby stroller. This provides a level crossing that is accessible for everyone and is actually very beautiful.
amazing bridge if impractical though I understand why it's easier to walk across a flat surface than an arched one but you can't use the bridge while its raised
@@allanlester3561 :3 i'd have just made an arched or elevated bridge with stairs it's simpler doesn't require a huge mechanism and is likely to last much longer
If we don't watch it to the end, including the extra 45-60 blank seconds at the end, you do not get credit for it being watched Mr. Siu, so don't complain.
if people still stand on it, how do they get informed that they have to go away becuse of incoming boat? it means that Bridge stuff must take them out of it before passing a boat. That takes so much time and waste energy! it looks like cool but does it worth it?
Hi there, we are from Spotlite Trans 7, Indonesia. We would like to ask your email address for permission to use ur footage above for our show. This will be shown on this Sunday, 12 Juli 2020. We will put credit title for ur channel and footage. Best regards, Spotlite Team.
2:34 wow just wow... I guess I am the only oddball who waits to see if there are credits, and a list of historical facts about the Gateshead Millennium Bridge... anything. Either way, if I am paying attention enough to read your rant I guess I AM the only one paying attention to your videos... Either way I better go to Wikipedia and look up where this bridge is at, Canada, Australia, England - I've no clue since you don't mention it in your rant.
I was going to compliment you on the high quality of your video - timelapse, zoom, resolution, and subjects - which of course I will still do. However, I noticed after a few seconds that nothing was happening beyond the two-minute mark, and moved my cursor ahead on the scrubber bar until I saw a thumbnail with the following scrolling inscription: "I am wondering why you are still watching, because this video has ended 45 seconds ago, the only reason that you're still watching is that you're not paying attention to my videos, you don't even know it has ended, how sad." First of all, one shouldn't use only commas to separate phrases. Other forms of punctuation are available, including hyphens, periods, and semicolons. I recommend the full stop, as they say in the U.K. Second, one can't fool all of the people all of the time - but you're to be commended for trying. :-) Third, and finally, you have excellent video skills. First-rate, actually. Best of luck to you, and keep up the good work!
try to ask this question in Russia, lol. why do we have to waste our taxes for Krelmin's autorities! PS: they work there to keep people safity when they need to pass a boat.
I will take note of your name to make sure I don't watch any more of your insulting video's. The music lends the viewer the idea that perhaps there might be more to watch. I guess you don't care to captivate an audience. You would rather insult.
I was wondering what got you so pissed off at him, then fast forwarded to the end lol, Instead of it pissing us of we should just laugh at his sheer stupidity to make sure noone EVER subscribes lol
