Holy cow Anna, 2059 is only 37 years from now! I have sweaters that old! I wore a coat not too long ago, timeless, camel winter dress coat, that I wore when I was pregnant with my son, 38 years ago!

I totally agree about navy blue being a classic and highly-wearable colour. It's a year-round staple for me and is perfect for setting off colours where black doesn't feel right. eg. Kelly green, feels way more right with navy blue than with black. Thanks for another great video - and for hanging in there through your home renovations.

I love navy, black doesn’t suit my pale coloring. I wish there were more choices out there for navy clothes and accessories. It seems like everything comes only in black, beige/ivory and one bright, trendy color.🙂

So funny, so many RU-vidrs will ‘apologize’ and mention some background noise they hope isn’t disrupting…..I always find THAT annoying because I never hear the the noise they are talking about in the first place, so it’s just a completely unnecessary comment that’s disruptive. So I was actually thrilled when you made the comment but then I actually could hear the noise…thank you for keeping it legit. This was a great video too. As I get older I want to be more ‘classic’ in style.

Black/white I love it. When I went back to work a number of years ago I got a couple interviews right away. Since I had been an at home mom, I wore my waiter uniform…lol. Black pants, white button up and black cardigan. It worked.

This is the first video I’ve seen by you and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I feel that I could just put the Outfits you mentioned that are classics in my closet and I would have the perfect capsule wardrobe instantly! One thing though, I am an autumn and I look like death warmed over in black no matter what the article is… A shirt, a dress, a scarf, Even a cardigan or a jacket looks hideous next to my skin. I wish people who insist on having a little black dress… LBD… In everyone’s closet would realize that we don’t all look good in black. How about camel, olive, ivory… Just please stop saying we all need an LBD in our closet! Give us some options to suit our various complexions! Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed your video and am looking forward to seeing more! P. S. Loved the expressions on your face when dealing with the racket around you! So fun! You are a trooper!

I just wondered why you kept talking about pants, slacks, shorts and even dresses but never once mentioned skirts? I don't really like pants and hardly ever wear them. But, I do wear denim skirts, especially in white for the summer and they look nice with all the types and colours of tops that you mentioned!

so happy I found this channel! binge watching your vids - thank you so much! I've been studying this stuff for years and have made super slow progress (even going backwards at times in desperation and confusion from listening to poor advice. But you make it feel so reachable and applicable! I'm a young mama and live in the Pacific NW where it does get hot but usually rainy and chilly and changes often through out the day. I'm definitely going to grab some items in Amazon that I've been putting off because I wasn't convinced I could make it work! xo!

Agreeing with you on all points. I have always gravitated to timeless, classic pieces. My usual work clothes consist of black pants and blouses, mostly blue, white, brown and black! During weekends, it’s denims and sports shirts. I am only recently appreciating the plain white shirts. Love your videos!

Just invested in an dark olivegreen skin moto jacket and I love it! Adding to my three others: dark brown, coral and yellow/silver brocade. The latter that I wore to my brother’s wedding over my dress! Got soo many complimets for it! It’s from H&M’s ”fineline” here in Sweden! Bye from 🇸🇪🛍

The DVF wrap dress changed everything! I love all these outfits, especially the white pants with striped blouse. For me, it’s white jeans. I love denim shorts, too, but they’re not ideal for my 62 year old legs, even though I’ve been in the gym for decades. Wondering how I can style black shorts and a longer blazer in the winter and possibly get away with tights to hide the flaws. Those hammer sounds are music to my ears. I need a good contractor and they’re very hard to find where I live.

I buy white and blue with coral as a pop of color. I’m not dogmatic with it, but buying with a color “formula”, it has made getting ready and packing really easy.

Yay, Thank you for the Navy/cream/camel suggestion. My coloring is very muted (think the dishwater blonde hair with gray eyes type), and even with highlights and make up, black and white are too saturated and harsh for me. I found true freedom when I got rid of my pure black and pure white clothing items. That said, I love classic styles and it’s tough to know what to replace them with… this was the direction I was headed (navy and cream), and this helps affirm that choice!

I needed this content desperately. Am personally obsessed with all black classics because I lived ib NY and until there’s a darker color invented, that’s what you wear. The thing is, now I live in Baja California wine country and people think I’m a stubborn goth or middle aged emo when I wear all black (if I happen to be listening to the Cure, this only makes ir worse) until I add red lipstick. Then folks just say: “oh, she’s in mourning.” Which I’m ok with as long as I can wear black and sing along to some Nine Inch Nails once in. a while Maybe I’ll try the white shirt and risk the waiter look. Thanks again for the great info.
