Roddy never has to finish a sentence as far as I'm concerned. He's still 65% more interesting than most of the current roster just sitting there shootin' the breeze.
he was so destroyed by the abuse he decided to sleep in the same room as him years later on tv lol,,,,something very fishy about all this do you think?
Frankie said, 'I don't run from nobody' and Piper thought he said, I got no room for nobody.' which ticked him off even more. He actually fought back as much as he was allowed in most of the jobber matches. William's was legitimately upset too. Something else. Cruel as hell, but a real spectacle.
I come back to watch this clip every chance I get because for me when I want to learn about the Psychology that goes into even an interview segment I watch this because Piper was the freaking man! I watched a clip from a Live one he did at the Spectrum and WOW was that brutal but then again...letting Philly fans participate is ALWAYS an interesting time!
Roddy Piper is the biggest reason pro wrestling went from being a once a week late night show seen on one TV station, to a multi million dollar, really billion dollar, industry seen on multiple stations, multiple times and shows during the week. His antics on Piper's Pit changed the dynamic of Pro Wrestling. Became more like Hollywood. A very entertaining program. His segment with Frankie Williams is fake, definitely. Piper is just keeping the guessing game going, claiming it was real. Back then, Pro Wrestling was produced as a real sporting event, real wrestling, real fights. Piper claimed it was all real to the end of his life. A true showman. Always keep them guessing. Is pro wrestling real or really fake? lol Roddy Piper is the best bad guy ever in pro wrestling history. Got people to hate him. His segment with Frankie Williams, Jimmy Snuka, Piper even mocked and insulted Bruno Sammartino, the living legend. People loved to hate Roddy Piper. They loved to watch him. #1 rule of Pro Wrestling ---> Get the people to want to watch Pro Wrestling. It's all about the $$$$$$$$$$.
Piper should have talked about his match with Williams back in 1979 when Piper was a journeyman and Williams was more than just a rag thrown around the ring like he was during the eighties .
Piper was great in 1984- to mid 1986. after that he was a watered down babyface part time wrestler. tired of him as the heel of the 1980s. he was no randy savage or ric flair. he was good before 1986 and left to be a hollywood star.
You can tell Piper's Pit was unscripted. Frankie Williams said "And I don't run from nobody" but with his accent Pipe thought he said "I got no room for nobody" but the part about the shots being real and Frankie being upset are a lie. The spots were discussed but not the words. I can tell a real shot from a fake one and Piper isn't hitting him with real shots.
I feel completely the opposite . Funny how things work. Heres a guy that was a heel a good portion of his career ,just despised, but yet seems like one of the more genuinely nice guys in the business. I read Bobby Heenan's book and he said it was usually the heels that were the more decent guys. the babyfaces were usually the prima donnas .How very ironic. Anyway just my opinion.
