That Spurs Team 2012-13 will always be one of my best team i ever see. Not only bc there were some players from all the world (🇫🇷🇦🇷🇮🇹🇧🇷) but also bc their style remains the same as 11 years ago (maybe even better) even after that shocking defeat vs LeBron and Wade
Manu is a legend and underrated af, dude was a starting caliber superstar but was ok coming from the bench like these divas nowadays. He understood what being a team first player is, only wanted for the best for The Spurs. I just love The Spurs, there was no egoes in the team for long (except Kawhi for example and even he was traded away when he started acting up), they only wanted to win together. There is so little teams like this who actually won, The Pistons and The Spurs only come in mind.
I remember watching that Spurs vs Heat Finals series in 2013-2014 and the Spurs have shown us all that TEAMWORK really can beat the LBJ superteam. Just watch that series and you will see how they beat LBJ's Heat team in just 5 games. Their team chemistry is so great that you are loving how they play that said series
As a Warriors fan I love learning about and watching the dynasty Spurs, the level of basketball they put on display every night was incredible, they played basketball the right way because they were selfless and everyone on the team was involved, it wasn’t just one guy calling for an iso and the rest of the players standing there like most teams are. The Spurs and Warriors are so a like in terms of the way their offense is run constant off ball movement, passing cutting, screens and getting shooters open. Both of them gets everyone involved and that’s how you play basketball and it’s the most beautiful basketball. The Spurs dynasty is so underrated and underappreciated, we need to realize how incredible of a run they had and appreciate it more.

You finally did one of these!! Tim Duncan's career is almost mentioned but not really cuz It's all about the San Antonio Spurs. We just need to know Post-2014 Champ Spurs!
Post-2014 Spurs are still a very good team even with big 3 getting older. Kawhi emerged as the best two-way player in the league, they won 67 games in 2016 which is overshadowed by the 73-9 GSW. If Kawhi didn’t get injured in 2017 playoffs they could have push the GSW to at least 6 or 7 games instead of getting swept. And honestly you can’t blame Pop either, he did what he did best to keep the Spurs consistently making the playoffs until the streak ended in 2020.
oh please he's more than appreciated they call him the "dynasty killer" which is laughable its a team game. He's the only superstar in the league who gets passes and excuses and little to no scrutiny from his fangirls. They're the worst.
@@therealpvc2541 the reason why people think he doesn't get criticised is because Kawhi is one of the few players who don't talk back to the media or do what they tell him to do. Players in this list would have been Kawhi, Gobert, Jokic but with how Jokic has been lately its just kawhi and Gobert
@@MarkLaw13 so? We’re solely critiquing his play yes he’s quiet and doesn’t showboat sure but how is that fair to all the other stars who are held to max standards?
@@therealpvc2541 the only player that get held to high standards is LeBron and that's because he talks too much. Oh keep talking about how old we are blag blah blah. Or turned on playoffs mode. That 3-1 right there made the greatest player of all time and the list continues 1. KD got blown out and people still say he's the best player, top 3. 2. Steph wins 1 FMVP and he's already in the top 10, really?!!! 3. Giannis during the off season was doing midrange, the 3s. Come playoffs shot 17% and his free throws was 66% and midrange was so poor but he's the best player still 4. Jokic wins b2b MVPs and has nothing to show for it in the postseason but he's still great 5. Luka's team do well without him in the postseason. He returns and has nothing to show against the Warriors. Oh he's young, he's still really good. He carried Dallas. Are you serious? He's better than Kawhi. 6. Where's Embiid's backlash?
I forever grew up hating on the spurs in my younger years as a laker fan always wondering how these guys always show up and show out every year great coaching great players no diva superstar the model of consistency for almost 20 plus years and I appreciate the way now how good the spurs were back then I would always root for them if the lakers didn’t make it all the way
People forget how crazy good the Spurs were in 2013 and 2014. They played with some of the most beautiful and team-oriented basketball ever, with a mix of veteran big 3 and other supporting players. An example at 13:55, Kawhi could have made that shot but instead drove the basket then passed to Splitter then to Duncan. That’s teamwork right there. And the most underrated what if: what if Kawhi made two free throws in game 6 2013? Even with the Ray Allen shot, they would have won the title and repeat the next year.
The worst part is that they could have done it again after Duncan retired. I mean between 2016 and 2017 they had a big opportunity, just imagine what the duo of Kawhi and Dejounte could have been 🤤
Great summary of the 'lost years' between 2008-2014 filled with so many missed opportunities due to several reasons: - Veteran championship role players being washed up and forced into retirement (Horry, Bowen, Finley). - Misfits with bad trades (Jefferson, old Mcdyess) trying to replace Bowen, Finley etc. - Drafts (pairing TD with 6-5 Dujuan Blair...peak Pop mad scientist experiments and rightfully punished by Grizzles in 2011 1st round). - Ruined team chemistry thanks to Tony Parker reaching peak Frenchie form off the court with Barry situation and was almost traded, just when he reached his peak in 2009... - Failure to bring in overseas signings, talented big guys like Luis Scola and Tiago Splitter as support to TD to take on the huge frontlines of Lakers (peak Laker moves stealing Pau Gasol, don't mention Marc Gasol pick please, Bynum, Odom), Celtics (KG, Perkins), Mavs (Chandler, Dirk), Grizzlies (ZBo, Gasol), young OKC (Ibaka, Perkins, KD), Clippers (Griffin, DJ). - OKrefs rigging 2012 WCF to get their dream matchup of Lebron vs Durant, worst officiated series I have seen after Lakers-Kings in 2002 and Mavs-Heat in 2006. - Peak Popovich overthinking with Game 6 Duncan benching in crunchtime.
Amazing video love it! Yes keep it big support great videos thank you and can you make Spurs 2014 Champions to a rebuild 2022 and Pistons 2004 Championship Team to rebuild Cade Cunningham 2022
If the odds land in their favor with the draft lottery next year, very well could be back in relevancy in the WC … futures bright … that ‘13 finals still stings but very glad the next season
Honestly there has to be a documentary on there squat from 2012-2014. They could have replace the thunder in 2012 if harden didn’t sell three flops to the refs that removed nine points from the spurs (lost by eight) they had some gritty playoff runs just to come up shortX had it almost in the bag in 2013 but took their foot off the gas… lost again- that close…. The. Said fuck this shit we playing real basketball and smoked everyone- grind out a seven game series against the mavs and there was no stopping them after that. Great individual seasons. But the seasons and the runs prior to 2013-2014 just add depth to that stories. Teams have hood seasons and burst out on runs but it’s rare when one always just right there every year that they aren’t there.
Actually, the team crumbled very badly at the very end of the season. The 61-21 hides that at some point they were 57-13!!!!! Within that collapse they lost 6 out of 7 away games(9 out of 10 if including playoffs). With that collapse, once Memphis stole game 1 at San Antonio, it was over.
