As a theater technician I’m just blown away by the size of those sets!

There are actually 4 main stages with one rotating stage and lifts under the main stage that can be risen up with complete sets under them. I worked in the prop department there for almost 20 years.

Opera is under-appreciated by most people… please, give it a try, it will make you feel relaxed and cheerful (they are not as expensive, even cheapest seats at The Met cost only $33). Regarding the video, it’s amazing all the hard work that is taken to perform an opera, from singers, musicians, and stage crew… all executed perfectly and in a timely manner (there are NOT RETAKES). Just one example, opera singers MUST study and practice to sing so loud that 3,000+ people must hear them from all corners (without microphones) and act emotionally at the same time.

Wow its impressive what they are able to do at the opera. Is there any other opera that comes close to what can be seen in the video?. Also the people who created this time lapse video did a great job.
