When I lived in Houston, Firestone changed my oil and apparently forgot that part of changing oil means replacing the oil that's been drained. I had to go to Hobby Airport, and barely made it back home before my car died. Spent 4 months riding buses and walking as Firestone dragged their feet about their negligence. Finally someone very high up agreed that Firestone was responsible for the damages and paid to have the car repaired. Always check your oil level before leaving a shop when you've had an oil change.

Wife had transmission flush and they didn't reconnect a hose properly- started blowing out trans fluid on way home. Co-worker had oil changed at Walmart, they called saying they found a puddle of oil in the spot their car was and asked my coworker to see if they had oil. They forgot the drain plug. Another coworker in different state at Walmart for oil change, they forgot the oil. I think the engine seized at Walmart, my wife was working there and heard about it. I happen to run into coworker at the mechanic getting a new motor and he told me he was the one Walmart did that to.

That check engine light is there for a purpose, if the little light that resembles an old style oil can with a few drops turns red pull over immediately.

I did leave milk in the car, it exploded. Terrible foul mess. I did get it cleaned before prom but the kids complained about the vinegar smell. I had been much worse than vinegar

Not inherently by themselves. But if they're left in the sun, preasure can build up (hot air expands) and burst of the lid or even the container. The last one refers more to forgotten and bad milk though. Never happend or witnessed that myself

My husband and I gave up burning real candles quite a few years ago. We found that when we would snuff them out, the smoke left soot all over the walls. Now we use those battery operated ones. They look lovely, flicker like real candles, and they don’t smoke!

@@bkitteh6295 Well yes, before I do the weekly shop, I empty all the old food out and wipe the fridge. I live in UK, it's quite common here. I do the same with the pantry and food cupboard.

Well depends on what you store in your fridge and how clumsy you are. Once a week is very excessive. If you got kids though, you certainly should clean it at least once a month.

The security tag ones , never happened. Stores do not forget to take those off as it sets off the security alarms at the front doors. Those items were stolen , obviously.

I bought a blouse at a store in Reno which they put in a bag. When I got home to Southern California, I found the security tag still on it. Fortunately, my local branch of the store removed it for me. It probably helped that the blouse was a style they didn't carry.

Re: security tag removal (or lack thereof) Stores DO do that all the time. I've both had it happen to me and accidently done it to a customer.
