TIMEX M79 Hands on Review Automatic Batman Q Timex. 

Please just sell it yourself. It’s hard enough as it is for retailers & this buy-it, try-it, return-it mindstate is maddening. He sold in good faith, you bought in good faith...time to deal with your change of heart in good faith

I’m keeping mine but I fully connected with it even with its faults. It’s definitely more than I wanted to spend, but I went in eyes wide open on Timex. I also like my Q, it’s also overpriced. The styling resonates with me and I’m assuming others. I would recommend definitely don’t pay over retail or ideally wait for the secondary market pricing to stabilize down. This is not a limited edition so there will be more, guaranteed.

Thanks for the detailed and enjoyable review! I just got mine today, paid $250 new. I absolutely love the look of the watch, the bracelet, bezel, and dial combination is out of this world, however, it just feels like a $60 Vostok Amphibia from a value and quality perspective. Seiko, Orient, and others blow it away at this price point. I will keep it as I really do enjoy wearing it despite the poor value proposition.

Chris, a really honest review and I'm with you on this, even though I also like the watch but for the price point, they are asking way too much. I think Timex is banking on the nostalgia factor for the Q, so they decided to give it an automatic which will be seen as an upgrade. I agree if Timex would have used the 9000 series Miyota they could have achieved a more slim height like the Q, and it would have been a real upgrade as far the movement is concerned. You shouldn’t buy a watch and wear it for a week then try and return it just because you decide you don’t like it anymore, you shouldn’t have bought it in the first place then. That’s what really cheap people do and isn’t fair to the brand as they can’t resale it as new. If you don’t like it then sell it on eBay but for a little less than you paid as it is clearly now second hand and not new.

I think it’s a great piece for someone who just wants a cool looking watch, or a “first grown up watch” for a young guy.

I also bought this watch. I love the looks of it and the way it feels on the wrist. It just feels nice. The bezel on the watch is so bad though. It actually shifts side to side. That is ridiculous that Timex released that with a known QC issue. That is a deal breaker for me. If not for that I would keep it. I called Timex and they just advised to return it. They knew exactly what the issue was. Poor QC by Timex.

Why would you keep it ??.. you've done the review,for the life of me i don't get how they're "sold out" especially at $280 for what seems like a $100 watch on a good day at best. Dude do yourself a favour and flip the overpriced herring.

Wow this watch is amazing and only $275, what a smokin deal. Your crazy to return this watch, can’t get them anywhere and it’s going to double if not triple in price over the next year.

it has a plastic piece bezel...... hence to 50 metres? Somehow when u rotate the bezel... it sounds plasticky.

I’d really like to see it compared to the Navi XL automatic diver which I believe is priced lower but looks nicer in pics to me, the price on this should drop down eventually no?

I'd love one for $150 maybe $200 but I can't understand a Timex tax. At least the butterfly tax gets you a Benchmade knife that will actually last you a lifetime. That 8000 series moovmeant will give 10-15 years but the Crystal won't last 5 years regular wear. Not for me thanks. Although I will admire it from afar

Its a fun cool looking novelty watch. I can see it as a quartz for $79. I Like a lot of Timex watches in that sub $100 category. Cool looking watches that tell time. The Easy Reader and Weekender are great 38mm dress watches. The Expedition and the Ironman are great watches. The Todd Snyder are cool retro watches. But $179 for the Q and $279 for this? The only people that seem to want it, are the Rolex fanboys who want it because its on back order. The Marc Goldberg crowd. Once it becomes readily available they dont want it anymore.

Good video dude. Just get rid of that piece of junk man. Pick up one of the other watches you mentioned for $279.

I think the only people who aren’t going to return theirs or even buy it at all, they are not shopping for value. $279 is like Casio money to those folks. For us who are looking for a usable and wearable everyday watch, this is a careful and thought out purchase. There’s no way a sane person can justify spending this on a shit watch like this, unless money was never a consideration to begin with. Anyone who says otherwise is trying hard not to regret their purchase.

A little overkill on the black and blue theme. There are other colors. It is not like on a GMT where the blue is for the day sky and the black for night sky. Not a good value.

They could’ve put a sapphire on and the rest would’ve been passable

What is your movement performance?

A change of mind shouldn't entitle customers to a refund. How this shit is allowed in America boggles my mind. The product works perfectly fine and appears to have no defects of any sort and is completely as described, and thus warrants no reason to be accepted for returns.

You have to be a fool to pay more than a hundred bucks for an 8000 series miyota. The 8000 series miyota is the movement that made the 2824 famous.

Timex is the brand products affordable quartz watches with reasonable reliable. Dive watches with mechanical movement is not their specialty.

I recently purchased a Ball Engineer III Ohio Automatic watch, Black, 40 mm, NM9126C-S14J-BK. I have new admiration for Ball. Definitely a class above many renowned watches. Too bad the Holy Trinity does not want to include Ball, however I will give him this category in my humble opinion, because for a watch expert, I would say that Ball is up to Patek Phillipe along with Vacheron Constantin and Breguet. This new acquisition in my humble collection, is a beauty that has many forms and with extreme expressions of beauty and is called Art! Therefore, Ball is my favorite of the Big Four, and based on general impressions and value for money. Although the only "detail" is a bit thick for my taste and although the thickness of the box is not perfect in this model, although it has an attractive appearance. As the owner of a Patek among other fine watches, I must say that Ball is easily compatible, if not superior, to the Patek in some aspects ... My Holy Trinity has Patek at the top, but not necessarily Vacheron Constantin or Breguet as a second level ... I think Ball fits better. They attract me like honey flies. Not only are Ball's watches beautiful, they represent the height of watchmaking development. Congratulations !!! For example, people make me smile when they say the Rolex watch is better. "Yes, it can look better ...", but technically speaking there is a big gap between a Ball watch and a Rolex. We must also remember and that you can not forget the luminescent tubes used by Ball, these are in my opinion the best tubes that have been applied to a watch. They offer a higher and more resistant luminosity - an intensity 100 times greater than that of traditional luminescent paints - which can last up to 25 years. Honestly, if there is anyone who is in doubt when buying a Ball, I encourage you to opt for this formidable brand called Ball. Greetings to all and have a good day

I don’t find these new Time watches appealing. Between that awful bracelet, mineral crystal, sloppy bezel and overall cheap look I could never see paying almost $300 for it! I paid $299 for a Zelos swordfish which is on an entirely different level than this Timex.

Dump the watch. Like you said, for the money there are much better pieces out there.
