Hope you are well, Been missing to interact you and post videos on youtube, but I am back, with a strong Gmt / Explorer homage made by Timex: the Expedition North GMT Titanium TW2W53000. Hope you enjoy the video and the watch. Andrei
You all can say that the Waterbury or Q are the most beautiful TImex series, but Expedition North always get the look, and most of all, the best calibres
I've been watching many RU-vid channels dedicated to watch reviews, but this one truly stands out. Whether you're a seasoned watch enthusiast or just getting into the hobby, your content is both accessible and insightful. I highly recommend this channel for anyone who appreciates quality timepieces and a relaxed, cool presentation style. Keep it going
It’s always a good time when you release a new video and this one does not disappoint. I like what Timex is doing especially with this line of watches. I agree the lume is somewhat confusing but overall I really like the look of the watch. Excellent review as always 🥃
I wish Timex comes up with a subbrand that has a cooler name. For me somehow Timex sounds cheap, but I'm very much confident in their product quality and legacy. It's like Toyota, Timex needs a Lexus.
Booked the watch last Sunday and received on Thursday. Since then never left my wrist. It ticked all my box for a watch except the brand but heck, its such a perfect watch to do anything and everything without a worry for damage or scratches and I have been monitoring the time everyday, it seems that it didn't lose a second and accuracy remained spot on when comparing to my phone time since day 1.
It's a great watch but for the same price, you have the GMT Steinhart with a Swiss mouvement... ...and I don't speak about all GMT China watches with the same Nh34 for 100$ to 250$ ! The price could be perfect just under 350€, even if the case was built in stainless steel.
My watch was purchased 2 years ago from MAMACOO and, to this day, it still looks and runs as well as it did the day it arrived. That movement has never missed a beat despite never having been serviced. I can't complain about that.
I have owned this Timex Titanium GMT for about a week and I love it. This will be a keeper for me. Lightweight, strap feels comfortable (and I prefer rubber straps for larger watches like this) so the thickness is not an issue at all, bi-directional rotating bezel is a plus, corlor profile is spot-on, looks cool on wrist. I have no issue with it being an office GMT, it is not that hard to independently adjust the 24-hour GMT hand even during travel, and the quick date set is more convenient and conformative to intuition especially for those who are owning their first GMT watches. I would say I probably prefer it with more traditional lugs instead of the "turtle shell" shape lugs as the latter make the watch wear larger, close to 42-42.5mm, but that's not a big issue.
great presentation as always! It would be interesting to compare this one with the Timex x The James Brand Automatic GMT which I believe was the watch Timex was based to make this one
Excellent take on this new model. The angular shape also reminds me a bit of some RZE watches. I agree with you on the movement. Peaks my interest otherwise
Steep pricing, nevertheless already sold out. This often seems to be the case with Timex: they have all the channels talking about it, but can't deliver. Have way more use for the caller mvt, I like the bezel action, but for this price lume has to be better. Glad you are back! Btw: thx for recommending the G-Steel GST-B600D - got it from Japan, a must-have imho :)
For all you titanium lovers❤ I have been wearing a tactical frog titanium dive watch with FXD lugs . (Sometimes the copy is better than the original) lume plots are so thick and heavy it looks like a totally different watch I love it
Great looking watch for this price. PS i bought yesterday the Certina DS Skeleton (C042.407.56.081.10), was kinda expensive for me but it was worth it ❤
Nice looking watch but too close to Tudor and Rolex in looks for me. Confusingly, you call it a “true” GMT with a jumping hour hand, then you say it houses the Seiko NH GMT movement, which does not have the jumping hour and is most often referred to as a “caller” GMT.
@@nicks8026agree, and it’s a real shame they didn’t use the Miyota 9075. It might have added a hundred dollars or so to the cost, but would have made it a no brainer for me. They already used that movement in the J Brand watch as well, which just adds to the frustration!
TIMEX WATCHES ARE GREAT BUT FOR 500 DOLLARS I THINK I WOULD GO FOR THE SEIKO 5 FOR THE SAME PRICE ON AMAZON BUT I LOVE TIMEX I REMEMBER MY FIRST WATCH WAS A TIMEX GREAT VIDEO
Got mine. Blasted workmanship is not so good. After two days wearing one scartch was happened due to Ti grade 2 (?). In term of movement accuracy so far so good for almost a week wearing. Happy shopping.
Good honest review. Not a good watch for the price by a long shot though. Definitely much better and better looking watches out there for quite a bit less than that.
Timex has always been able to produce world class watches, but they’ve more often limited themselves to inferior materials, movements, etc. Back in the late 50’s and early 60’s they compared aesthetically to much more expensive brands. My ‘59 Viscount is gorgeous! The ‘60’s look was and is iconic. It’s just they weren’t built to be heirlooms.
I enquired with Timex concerning the movement of this watch. I was told the movement is in fact a Seiko NH34. $500+ for a NH34 is a no go. However, it is a great looking watch.
I wish it was Grade 5 titanium. Love the design but don't like that they went with softer grade 2 as it very quickly looks shabby, esp. with the bead blasted texture.
That’s true and I have the pro myself too, however that’s just a reimagined version of the old explorer so I guess it’s all derivative and yes Tudor is a cousin to Rolex Tudor but this has got its own identity and it feels pretty good on the wrist.
At $550 you are just getting too close to Mido pricing. At $250 - I am a buyer and would put a deployment clasp rubber band on it. Should have made it indiglo optional. I also wish the 3 and 9 o'clock were same dots as other numbers.
